Over

This country is over. Kaput. Gone. Dead. Fish food. We are broke and morally bankrupt. Our infrastructure is crumbling and our schools teach fairy tales as fact. If our barbarism does not abate soon, other nations of the world will be forced to abandon and even turn against us. We will be without influence or friends. As our electricity cuts off from lack of fuel and the failing grid, we will turn into what we are fighting against: a warlord driven factious society consisting of lords and serfs. We are on the edge of oblivion with both Republicans and Democrats in congress and the White House pushing us as hard as they can toward the edge. Sooner or later the people will have to act. If you liked the Civil War, you love what's to come. Bye, bye Miss American pie.

Capitalism

Otherwise known as War for Profit is one of the few industries that works in America. With growing Obama's infatuation with being a 'War President', I'm sure we'll have much more of this to look forward to.

What makes you think

That this is not exactly what Obama wanted? He's only human and humans need money to live. It looks to me as if he never meant to reform health care but needed the promise to get elected. This may be his intention. I mean insurance companies have a long history of paying off politicians. Why not Saint Obama? My prediction is that he will give a luke warm speech before congress and that the public option will be history. With that, the progressives will kill the bill and we'll have just that much more money to spend slaughtering wedding parties in Afganistan. Remember, Obama is not a true Democrat, he is a Republican now. Hence the outreach to the GOP. No, we'll get no health care. What we'll get is 20,000 more poor slobs with guns in Afganistan partying with the contractors. What a country!

Law???

Our Unitary Executive in the powers granted to him under the constitution, will set aside this verdict and nullify any suits brought against Ashcroft. Remember, this is not America any longer, this the The Homeland. And in The Homeland, the Unitary Executive calls ALL the shots. Obama may have run as a Democrat, but he rules as a Republican. You have no rights unless Obama specifically says you do. Welcome to George W. Bush's third term. Kucinich 2012.

Speechifying

Talk has always been cheap to Obama. He lacks principles, courage, and honesty. He and his henchmen will sell(and have sold) us out in a New York second. Make you backroom deals with Pharma, Barak, come 2013 you'll be back where you belong in Chicago with the rest of the corrupt machine pols.

Moot point

The NSA will listen to whom they want, when they want to do it and no one can stop them. The president has no desire to follow the law and neither does congress. So legal and illegal do not matter. Obama could not stop the spying even if he wanted to. It will continue until THE PEOPLE physically tear the NSA out of it's spider hole and put a stake through it's heart. Until then, every word, every move, every letter, every email will be archived until a Republican needs it to smear or convict someone. Period.

GGA

Good god almighty, Obama is a sucker. Bush gave these boys swords and told them to go get as bloody as they want to. Then when their blades got dull, he sharpened them up with 700 billion bucks. Now Obama, who sees nothing wrong with bloody swords and dead citizens, is asking, ASKING, them to play nice? How stupid is our president? Geeze, I really didn't expect to have to ever ask that question again. BIIIIIIG sigh.

Outsiders Unite!

Brillant recitation of the obvious that is being hidden from public view. Too bad Obama is now an Insider. I'm ready to join with my conservative brothers in an Outsider protest against the real enemy. Too bad I can't get off work from the corporation that owns me.

Perspective

I was listening to Bill Press absolutely FREEK OUT about Joe Wilson's outburst at Obama's speech today. I mean he was OUTRAGED! I wish I could have called. Here is what I would have said:

Bill, Bill, Bill. This is a country that tortures innocent people TO DEATH. Our current President, aka The Savior of The Nation, is seeking to permenantly detain without trial anyone he chooses, citizen or not. And you, Bill, are irrationally upset about decorum in Congress??? You are upset about what kind of messsage it sends to the world that one person yells 'You lie!' during a speech? In my opinion, we need MORE yelling at this president, not less. I do not support Joe Wilson' politics and never will. But the time has long passed for us to be worried about our image abroad. Our image abroad is one of a corrupt, incompetent, ignorant nation following anyone with a megaphone over the cliffs of violence and destruction. The rule of law is a farce. The pretense of humanity is over. We are barbarians. We are the enemy. We are The Great Satan. We have driven ourselves insane with greed and empire. And now that Obama has abandoned his facade, we are over. I am ashamed to be an American.

Priorities

Glenn,

I just don't see how you can spend so much time and effort on torture and abuse when Joe Wilson is still roaming the halls of Congress. My God, man, he could burst out with a 'You lie!' at any time!!!! Ooooh, the humanity!!!

Excellent post, Glenn. Keep it up.
