Richard Holbrooke said, 'We'll know it when we see it'. Send your sons and daughters to Afganistan, Democratic members of congress. Fat chance. Congress has no skin in any game they play. War? None. Insurance? None. Justice system? None.
I don't know about you people, but I'm getting sick and tired and angry that the people making the laws not only do not have to abide by them but they are totally unaffected by those laws and policies. I say remove all benifits from congress. No insurance, no free food, no franking, no transportation, no speaking fees. Let them live in the realy world with the rest of us. Fat chance again. How do we reform an institution that is in charge of reforming institutions? We don't. We have been enslaved to the Corporation by our Congress. This country is over.
Then I'll take socialism. Kucinich 2012
And now we are calling the protestors at the town hall crazies because they allege that the president wants to execute Granny. It will be too late for revelations once Granny is dead! Save Granny! Believe the crazies! Get a gun! Hide in your basement! They're coming for Granny!
So have you not been paying attention, Glenn??? Torture was codified during the Bush admin. It IS settled law that The Unitary Executive can rule with dictatorial powers if the OLC gives him the ok. This nation tortures our prisoners under current law with no apoligies. This nation will CONTINUE to torture prisoners if for no other reason than the troops are bored. We are Germany 1939. Obama has no intention of following the law. I still can hardly believe that the entire planet just shrugged when it was proven that we torture and murder our captives. Obama is already complicit so he will not prosecute anyone else. He is as corrupt as Bush/Cheney and twice as dangerous. You see, he smiles when he slips the knife into our 'nation of laws'.
You are such the choir boy! We have established once and for all that if The Unitary Executive does it, it is not illegal. The president has been set. Anything goes. Congress cannot and will not dispute what The Unitary Executive does, the courts can rule but cannot enforce, and the people are too busy selling soda cans for meal money to notice that they live under the rule of tyranny and not the rule of law. This country is over. The corporations run things now. They will kill health care reform, cap and trade, and anything else that cuts into the CEO salaries. We, the people, are serfs to the lords and ladies in the Obama court. I am just so disappointed in Obama and the Democratic party I want to leave this country. There will be no savior for us. Obama has betrayed all those who voted for him. After 8 more years of letting the corporations rule this nation there will be no way of ever getting it back from them. This experiment in democracy is over. It failed.
Except about the rule of law and you, Peter King. Whose side are you on? The torturers or the citizens? Oh, sorry, I already know the answer to that. Republicans are all such manly men they would of course side with torturers.
Now that Holder had declared that torture defined by the Geneva Conventions is legal in the USA, and he is only going after those who tortured 'inappropriately', it really does not matter who loves or hates torture. We regularly and gleefully execute people because our law says we can. Now our law says we can torture people in specifie ways such as waterboarding, sleep deprivation, forced nudity, bone breaking, kicking, and beating. Obama has no intention of changing that law either. So delight, torture defenders, Obama will continue to torture prisoners for the amusement of 'The Troops'. The American judicial system says he can. Oh, and don't worry about those 'patriotic' Americans who mutaliated and murdered prisoners, U.S. courts will now accept the 'he meant well' and the 'just following orders' defenses. It's a win-win. Just not for the poor innocent bastards that were killed and buried in unmarked graves in the desert of Afganistan. Ah, well, we meant well.
She did not win the nomination. After the Bosnia lie I never trusted her.
To God's ear. Seriously, I have no doubt that all you wrote is in the realm of possibility.
Kucinich 2012.
Obviously owning the main stream media lock, stock, and barrel has it's advantages. One of them is that you get to lie with impunity. The other is that no one ever get to correct the lies so they become truth. As Obama consolidates his power among the conservatives and Republicans by blocking meaningful health care for all, we will see him lie more and more. And suddenly, the MSM will start featuring him and his lies more and more. It's shameful. Still, what can you expect from a president who continues to torture helpless prisoners and hold them forever?
Kucinich 2012.
1. Start one or more wars that cannot be won and cannot be lost.
2. Impoverish the middle class so that they:
a. Have no political power
b. Have no economic security
3. Give the military unlimited access to school children for recruiting purposes.
4. Promote militarism through movies and TV as well as 'patriotic' messages from the president and congress.
5. Crash the economy so that the military is the only option available for survival.
6. Sit back and collect the WarBucks.
Easy as pie.
