ABB...whatta card!
[Read the article: "King Kong"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]ABB rants about Hollywood's supposed "portrayal of racial minorities" in a monster movie.
Hey, Bitch, get a clue: this is Hollywood's portrayal of a giant gorilla. Would it have satisfied you if he have been stripped of his color, like a monster Michael Jackson?
There's an idea! Next remake, use a giant orangutan (red hair, white(!!!) face) as Kong and cast (black!!!) Halle Berry--no, wait, she's too "Nordic," better go with Naomi Campbell--as the damsel in distress. And instead of black native islanders, maybe they could be descendants of, oh, stranded Portuguese explorers or Dutch pirates or some such.
Then, just to make sure we all get the message, once they reach New York and Kong escapes, Campbell could try to evade him by donning a (white!!!) Latitia Casta disguise--only to have Kong strip the orangutan mask from his face, revealing a (black!!!) gorilla underneath--snatch Casta/Campbell, climb the ACLU headquarters, and fall to his death after becoming disoriented when he looks out into the audience and sees that nobody is watching any more.

Helms = Satan?
[Read the article: Let us now praise Jesse Helms]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]No, really. That's Hannaham's thesis. Helms performed the Left a service by being the embodiment of ultra-right "values". That was his role, just as Satan's role is to be the personification of evil. If you're right, now that Helms (and Thurmond) are gone, who will take up that role?
Oh, yeah...the torch has already passed. Bush and Cheney have long since superseded the blustering bigotry that Helms personified with their own brand of evil: spying on Americans, summary imprisonment of whomever they deem to be a "terrorist", torture. And that all coming on top of a steady erosion of civil liberties throughout the last 30 years under the guise of the War on Drugs. So before you finish congratulating yourself on having outlived and defeated the evils personified by Helms, maybe you ought to take a look around. Helms wasn't the personification of evil. He was just a prominent distraction whose job was to keep the Left up in arms and the Right energized over wedge issues. It didn't matter if he won or lost, because while everyone has been fighting the Culture Wars, the real evildoers have cut out America's heart.

You really don't want to click this link...
[Read the article: My wife left me because the dolphins at Sea World gave me an erection]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Really. You don't. But those who do, after they recover from the ensuing shock/uncontrollable laughter, may ask themselves: Is this the same Seaworld show that Roy saw?
