Been there, done that

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall

All the King's Horses and

All the King's men

Couldn't put Humpty together again.

Sorry, man. It's all over but for the shouting.

Get out now. Marshall your resources so you can care for your daughter. People who stay together "for the children" are never thinking about the children.

Voice of experience here.

But you won't listen. It takes two people to save a marriage. Your wife isn't interested. Good luck.

Reminiscent of JFK smears

What bothers me the most about the birthers is how they remind me of the lunatics who smeared JFK - crazy shit - in the time leading up to his assassination. And now Fox and CNN pour fuel on the fire?

Our country is now a third-world narco-state. The drug money laundered through las vegas has contaminated our whole economy and culture; and the killers - or their frontmen like Murdoch - own the TV networks.

I am not talking conspiracy, mind you. Do you think it's fun to see things as they are?

the apple doesn't fall far from the tree

I am old enough to remember when all these crazies were marginalized.

But then the Combine realized it had to do more than just kill the nation's natural leaders, i.e., JFK, et al. They had to bring them into the tent via Nixon's "southern strategy."

After Reagan paved the way for media consolidation, this guaranteed these batshit insane people a permanent "voice," such as it is, in the body politic, all the while shifting the nature of the debate further and further to the right over the past few decades.

And Liz Cheney, pampered brat-spawn of a criminal scumbag, comes out to spew this shit.

I think they are imploding, going off the deep end. The force of history and the will of the people, as brain-washed and prozac-dulled as we are, is squarely against them.

And they know it.

let's see ...

Abraham Lincoln killed by southerner

JFK killed in confederate state

Beatle burnings - deep south

MLK killed - deep south

who needs such ignorance? let them secede. See how the red states do without hand-outs from Washington DC.

@ Sartrewasright

You don't like "fag hag?"

How about "fruit fly?"

Jeez, I remember in my early twenties when I figured out that fag hags/fruit flies still needed to get laid by straight men & were ripe for the picking. Plus, already qualified as outsiders in the era of the Cockettes and early glam, they knew how to party.

As a frustrated writer, who was researching the era (early/mid seventies), told me, "There are huge memory holes where no one who was there [at a concert or club, for example] can remember anything."

Thank you, girls. I wish I could remember you all.

@ ouroborous

You wrote:

But my point is just a slight tweak on what Glenn was saying; the media implicitly dismisses out-of-hand anyone who protests the government, regardless of the veracity of their claims. All I'm adding to Glenn's article is that the dismissal seems to be less dependent upon your political leaning, and more dependent upon the simple fact that you are protesting.

A couple of slight differences: the TownHall Teabaggers are (a) actually getting their misinformed talking points from the media (Fox, Rush, et al) and (b) where we tried to raise concerns about the "terror" alerts being politically motivated, we were not trying to shut down and sabotage all discourse as they are, but rather raising valid concerns affecting the very security of our country.

Original article: My evil iPhone

why are idiots given a public forum?

This woman should stick to technology she is comfortable with, i.e., microwaves with a "popcorn" button and two-speed vibrators.

Everybody I know loves his/her iPhone ... without exception. They are amazing devices.

That said, everybody also hates AT&T, criminally incompetent, and just criminal ...

has SHRUNK, not shrank!

I mean, please ... there are enough illiterates in the comment section on this site. And it's worse elsewhere.

Other than that ... great article!

the safety of sobriety?

Fuck, nothing is more safe than when you are high, or low, or drunk, or on heroin, or mushrooms, cocaine, and brandy ...

Sobriety takes balls.

This guy thinks most recovery memoirs are bullshit? Yes if you read James Frey or Augusten Burroughs ... but what the fuck does he know about recovery anyway?

Pussy is still out there in the safety of his drug fortress.

Original article: Can cheap be sexy?

miser is the root word of miserable

cheap is cheap is cheap.

a woman once told me "cheap guys are lousy in bed."

i replied,"i've been a spendthrift my whole life!"

just sayin' ...

I feel for LW, but ...

we all have the one who got away.

This guy was no prize and, yes, the letter confirms what all men know: women go for assholes. It is ever thus.

Sorry, darling, he's gone. He won't be back, unless it's to knock on your window at 3 a.m. You would let him in, of course. You always do. But then he would be gone again.

Someday, a year or two hence, you will get over him. And find another exciting man, hopefully. You'll probably have to grow up somewhat to recognize him, however. But it could happen.
