Las Vegas, international money-laundering center, has pumped more dirty money into our culture, our economy, and our politics than could probably be counted. Las Vegas bankrolled the rise of the modern Republican army, starting with Ronald Reagan, with Wall Street in on the action. I do not believe it a coincidence that Democrat Harry Reid, the great enabler, hails from Nevada.

We are seeing the results now.

I highly recommend The Money and the Power: The Making of Las Vegas and Its Hold on America by Sally Denton and Roger Morris. An amazingly thorough, well-researched book that will scare the bejesus out of any thinking person.

Based on decades of observation, I can say generally than any negative behavior/attitudes that manifest themselves before marriage usually come to full fruition at a factor of ten, after the wedding bells have pealed.
