  • Joan - you have finally destroyed Salon's credibility once and for all

I check in to see what is going on still, but Salon is no longer my homepage as it was from the beginning. Up to a month ago, anyway.

I was very curious why you had a four or five day almost total blackout on Hillary's assassination remarks. Now you come in with this bizarre and somewhat dishonest defense of her remark.

I don't think anybody really thought that she meant she was hanging in just in case Obama was assassinated.

But I do think people were flabbergasted by the remark. I know I was. For the record, I used to like Bill and Hillary. I thought she was a shoo-in for the nomination. But she has totally alienated me - and nearly everyone else - over the last few months.

I mean, can you or anyone explain just WHY she mentioned the RFK assassination, not once but three or four times? She says NOTHING by mistake. Everything is calculated.

Now it has created a shitstorm, as it should. And she and Bill and you are pointing fingers everywhere else.

    Losers.

  • looks like zune-colored shit all over that kid's face

Q: Why is it everything looks ugly and clunky on Windows machines?

A: Because if all you care about is money and profit, you are devoid of any kind of grace.

Microsoft has proven this a hundred times over.

Final proof was in her speech. Self-centered. Delusional.

And I think old Bill is hitting the sauce too hard, based on his vulgar comments about the Vanity Fair article.

To think so many of us stuck up for them all those years.

Can't their handlers just take them somewhere for a while?

  • He doesn't need her supporters

The people have spoken with millions and millions of dollars in small donations to Obama.

The big money boys saw the writing on the wall for Hillary months ago & stopped throwing good money after bad.

It would be a travesty to put her on the ticket. Who needs one minute more of the Clintonian psycho-dramas we've been subjected to for sixteen years already?

  • Salon is the only place I've seen the Rezko conviction story

What ... is Joanie still in a hissy-fit that Hill total blew her shoo-in nomination?

This is not a story. Was not a story. Will not be a story.

What a sad bunch of clowns Salon has become.

  • Invisible = code word for the nature of sexual attraction

[Read the article: The other 18 million]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

When we are young, the women have all the power. Later, age withers beauty, and men amass wealth and power ... and the balance shifts absolutely. Is it unfair? The word doesn't even apply. It is the nature of things.

Feminists of my and Hillary's generation have been wailing about the inequities of sexual attraction for forty years. Now that they are older, and the men don't look at them like they used to, they want something else to fill the void ...

Back when it all started, and they were young and desirable, and possessed that power, women screamed about being objectified. Sexual attraction is oppression. Let's not even get into Andrea Dworkin and all heterosexual sex is rape - I remember when feminists were arguing whether or not a woman could enjoy vaginal penetration and still be a "true" feminist, reducing women, once again, to their vaginas.

I truly believe that the anger felt about the Hillary's lost attempt at the White House is in reality anger re-directed at this final failure and utter collapse of feminist dogma. And the bitter knowledge of how much you threw away way back when. Erica Jong, champion of the zipless fuck, is wailing about sexism over at Huffpo today. Same old screed.

I am sorry that you Hillary supporters bought the bill of goods, the farce that ideology could somehow trump biology ... I'm even sorrier you chose a corporate narcissist, who, with her narcissist spouse, made 108 million dollars in the past eight years ... to lead you out of the emptiness of your failed beliefs.

It's much like the collapse of communism in Russia ... people actually believed all the lies they had been told all their lives and were shattered when it all came crashing down.

Pick another woman to support. Get busy helping someone more unfortunate than you. Help battered women. Get involved in your local schools. Whatever. There are a thousand things to be done.

  • Enough about Hillary - it's over, been over, a long time

Our country has nominated a black man to become president of the the United States. This would have been impossible even forty years ago ... it is cause for great joy and celebration.

What amazing progress we have made in such a short time. I daresay no other country on earth could have done what we have done.

Why is Salon not celebrating this amazing leap in the evolution of our republic?

don't bother answering. i know why.
