[Read the article: Is Mitt Romney taking Michigan for a ride?]

I think there is some truth to the healthcare woes. Here is a personal story from my own family.

My grandfather worked for Chrysler as a shop rat his entire career, and retired from there. He passed away not long after retiring, in 1984. My grandmother outlived him by over 20 years. Despite the fact that she was a stay at home mom after they got married, and didn't work outside the home, Chrysler continued to pay her full medical benefits for the rest of her life. In addition to my grandfather's retirement pension.

Am I happy my grandmother was taken care of? Absolutely! And the pension she received that my grandfather earned, was hers to inherit. But yet something still bothers me about the fact that Chrysler paid all of her medical benefits for the next 20 years, paid for someone that never worked there. I can see why their healthcare expenses are so high!

  • Fan Favorite

I too was surprised that Christian was the fan favorite, I really thought it was going to be Chris or Sweet P. I guess I should have gone to the website and voted for Chris...

I can find mine regularly now, but only if I get on top and control the angle. And a little lube helps because you can manipulate things into position better. We can't seem to hit the spot at all in the missionary position.

I was not too impressed. I hate that they have a laugh track (although it was not as intrusive as some are). I will give it a longer look than usual, because I like Parker Posey.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think PP would be better in the role of the transient sister, about to become pregnant?

  • Movie Suggestions

[Read the article: I'm on vacation. But you can help out!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    "Cold Turkey" - 1971

What happens when an entire town tries to give up smoking for a month for a big cash payout. Great, silly fun. (someone mentioned Dick Van Dyke, he stars in this)

    "A League of Their Own" - 1992

I love this tale of the women's professional baseball league. Not sure if a 4-year old will stay interested, I guess maybe if they are a baseball fan.

    "Whale Rider" - 2002

Probably an obvious choice, but still a great film!

    "Big" - 1988

One of my all time favorite movies, I have seen it dozens of times and never get tired of it.

  • Cartoons?

If cartoons are in the running, I also recommend episodes of The Rocky and Bullwinkle series.

  • Manhattan Apartment Affordability

[Read the article: The superheroes of "Sex and the City"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I never had a problem questioning how Carrie could afford that Manhattan apartment. Because I always assumed it was rent controlled. In fact, in one episode the building is going condo and she can't afford it, which is realistically what would happen.

If she moved to Manhattan as a young woman and held onto that apartment for 15-20+ years, it is quite conceivable that it was rent controlled and very affordable. Or, in another common scenario, the apartment gets subleased from someone who HAS had it for years, and keeps the rent controlled price (while taking a cut for themselves, usually).

I had a friend who had a large (by NYC standards), 3-bedroom apartment on Riverside drive that was unbelievably affordable, because she had lived there for years and it was rent controlled. If it were to open up for rent from a new tenant, the price would at least quadruple!

  • Girl vs woman

    [Read the article: Girl talk]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

This is one of my pet peeves at work, where a couple of my male coworkers ALWAYS refer to ALL women as "girls", no matter their age or position, and no matter the context. Including women coworkers old enough to be their mothers!

I had pointed this out to them many times, but the thing that has had the biggest impact was when I started to refer to male coworkers as "boys." ("you know that boy over in accounting, that gets our finance report...")

The biggest offender protested that it was an unfair term, that it should be "girls" and "guys." And I disagreed, saying "boys" was the emotional equivalent of calling grown women "girls." And that "guys" actually paired up (to me, anyway) with "gals."
