@dagome

What is MSM?

On Reagan - was he really that successful? He was a showman at best and could read scripted material very effectively, scripts that were written in doublespeak, by the neo-cons. Besides, he really did not have all his marbles in the White House.

Reagan's policies were only successful for the very rich and the well heeled. How do explain such a huge chasm between the rich and the poor, the homelessness of many mentally challenged people who were put out on the streets by Reagan as he slashed and burned Health Care and Human Services? How do you explain the unfairness in the media, with right wing punditry on 7x24 afer Reagan led legislation for the eardication of "fairness" in the media? How do you explain the shift of power from federal to the states where many people fell through the cracks on uneven state policies? How do you explain lobbyists for special interests who have accumulated so much power that they sit at congressional tables to strong arm laws that have made the insurance companies, pharamaceuticals, the AMA, to name just a few who have made enormous profits that would make your head spin? How do you explain Corporate welfare where CEOs make so much money, that 10 generations of their progeny need never earn a living as opposed to welfare for low income women and children who can barely make ends meet? Was Reagan really successful?

Yes. I completely agree with you, that Bill Clinton moved the Democratic party to the right of center. I have never forgiven him for that. And I fear, that Hillary Clinton is going to stay the course. Barak Obama is no better as he espouses Reagan admiration. Matter of fact, he also sounds very much like Bill Clinton when he ran in 2002. Barak Obama is also a right of center Democrat. So we can agree, that with either one of them, it will be business as usual. Neither one is equipped to "change" any culture in Washington.

No. Barak does not have to kiss any ring. But he has determinedly kept BLACK national leaders at arms length. That is hugely troublesome to me. He wants to cater to racial fears of his potential white voters and is in no way different than Bill Clinton when he played the race card trashing Sister Souljah.

But I will vote for the Democratic ticket, whoever wins the nomination through fair means or foul.

CNN Debate

I just sat through a contentious debate between Hillary, Obama and John. I am glad they went for the jugular. A good rough and tumble of politics. Hillary did come off strong, and in my opinion or perception if you will, Barack came off arrogant and a bit of a neophyte. The audience was predominantly Arican American, some of whom did give Hillary a standing ovation as she entered the stage. I hope that Barack does not take the African American vote for granted, even though he is running ahead in South Carolina.

But Hillary is going to win the nomination. She may lose in SC but she scored big across the country. Race and gender do matter, and chances of a white woman winning the nomination are much higher than those of a black man. Unfortunately both Hillary and Obama are playing the race and gender card, subliminally.

Obama got clobbered

To be fair, Obama is the one who started the snarl about Wal-Mart, after which Hillary came back about the slum lord in Chicago. But time and again, Obama got himself in the cross hairs. He did not come out as good as the press would like us to believe. Hillary was able to stay on message even with Obama's home court advantage with a mostly African American audience. Hillary stood her ground and responded well under pressure, while Obama seemed to want sympathy from the audience with the attack on Bill Clinton and having to answer to 2 adversaries. He appeared like he can dish it out, but he certainly cannot take it.

Obama is certainly a neophyte and appears uncomfortable in the rough and tumble world of national politics. Hillary has found her voice. Go girl

@KCM

They are ALL lying and exxagerating (sp) their positions and want to portray themselves as bigger than life do-gooders. Your injecting "rovian" dirty tricks on the part of the Clintons is a code to give Obama a free ride on his pack of lies. Obama is like that youngest sibling in the family who starts the fight but runs to his parents when the big kids beat him up. Comparing the Clintons to Karl Rove is certainly specious.
