[Read the article: Americans more ready for a black president than a woman?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Eugene, Oregon yup, leftists for sure, old Ken Kesey country. But here is another hillary trail that should amuse everyone. Imagine, she is better suited, because as a woman it takes more time to dress. But invoking Jeannette Rankin is the dumbest thing she did. Rankin was a lifelong pacifist.
Apr 6th, 2008 | MISSOULA, Mont. -- Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton laid claim Sunday to Montana's famed female trailblazer — Jeannette Rankin, who in 1916 became the first woman ever elected to Congress.
"Remember, Jeannette Rankin was elected before women could vote. So who says men don't vote for a woman?" Clinton told an audience crowded into an airport hangar here.
A Republican and lifelong pacifist, Rankin lost her House seat after just one term in part because she voted against authorizing U.S. entry into World War I. She was elected again in 1940 and became the only member of Congress to oppose entry in World War II.
Rankin was also an ardent feminist who championed birth control and women's suffrage.
For her part, Clinton reaffirmed her vote to authorize the U.S. invasion of Iraq, saying she believed at the time it was a vote to send in weapons inspectors rather than to launch immediate military action.
"I'm more than willing to be held accountable for it, because that's the way it is life. You are judged on your actions," she said.
In another nod to her status as the only woman candidate in the field, Clinton noted it took her more time than her male counterparts to prepare for a day on the campaign trail.
"Do you realize how much longer it takes for me to get ready than my opponents?" Clinton said. "I think I should get points for what I do, plus having to spend so much time getting ready."

[Read the article: Americans more ready for a black president than a woman?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Are you really so ignorant of class and politics? The politics involved in this has sooo much less to do with gender than other issues. I would hope that feminists would be interested and capable of making such distinctions. Sorry as a movement that relies on thought your post only makes you sound as a marginal dork or someone from the right being an agent provateur

It is small wonder that black women could not relate to, nor participate in the feminist movement that was led mostly by middle class white women. How could they understand class distinctions when white women mostly benefited from affirmative action.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]Also, they not only call your arguments childish, but like angry fingerpointing mothers, they talk down to deflect them from talking about the real issues of honesty and truthiness. They are short on that. But they are very good at condescension and baiting. That is why it is best to ignore them Clintonon automaton trolls. They repeat and repeat and repeat.

Mark Penn and Hillary Clinton: It's a Matter of Trust
[Read the article: Americans more ready for a black president than a woman?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Examine the following excerpts from articles this past week about what was clearly a Clinton campaign overture to Colombia to get involved in the U.S. primaries by denouncing Obama. But there’s more to it than that. Despite all the ongoing Mark Penn apologies, he’s the poster boy for the corporate lobbyist destructive infestation of our government – and he is Clinton’s lead strategist

Condi Rice
[Read the article: Americans more ready for a black president than a woman?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I wonder if when Condi Rice runs on the McCain ticket as a VP and some of the same sexist invectives are thrown at her on Salon pages, the same thin skinned white women will rush to her rescue. I think not.

Hillary's swan song
[Read the article: Barack Obama in suspended animation]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]will be PA. The good people in PA will decide to run out hillary once and for all. Obama has already narrowed the gap. This weekend of hillary whoppers and Penn Columbia connections will drive the last nail in hillary's coffin. May we bury both the Clintons from politics and forever. Let them enjoy their windfall gains for the rest of their sleazy lives.

Hillary's destructive coup attempt: it's a good thing for the Democratic Party.
[Read the article: Barack Obama in suspended animation]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Hillary Clinton has proved during the past few months that she is a fighter, that she is tenacious, and that she is in the race to win. There's just one problem. She's already lost.
Clinton's near-lone chance of victory rests with a coup by superdelegate, persuading enough of them to overcome the primary voters' preference. Yet a coup by elite Democrats would be ill-received, to put it mildly. Obama's base spans the party's most loyal and engaged constituencies: African-Americans, professionals who generate hundreds of millions in small-dollar donations and a conventional-wisdom-defying outpouring of youth support.
If Obama lost at the polling booth, these supporters would accept the voters' verdict and carry on.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]Lotta people jumping out of hillary's train wreck, is when she started playing dirty. Woman or man, I don't care. When she resorted to attack ads and lies, is when people saw hillary for what she really is - a congenital liar.

Hope again
[Read the article: Americans more ready for a black president than a woman?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You are a woman after my own heart. hillary does not deserve our vote, just because she is a woman. She is imminently not qualified because she is an opportunist and a liar.
