Thanks for the link. I saw nothing in there that would suggest that Obama was using any code. "Hoodwinked" and "bamboozled" are part of the English language and is used around the world to mean exactly that.
As for plaigerism, Devlin is on Obama's campaign team and coached him to use his words. Besides everything else is pretty much in the public domain. The speeches on hope are pretty much standard stump fodder. Matter of fact, Bill Clinton was "The Man from Hope" and was running on exactly the same sentiment in 1992. Also, in the debate Hillary used exactly the same words used by John Edwards and gleefully reported by the media with the before and after. Even in our own daily speech patterns, how many of us can boast that we are not using words used by others or something we have not heard on TV?
The plaigerism accusation is like flogging a dead horse. Arguably I can take anything from a Hillary speech and link a word or two to Richard Nixon. That is not hard to do, because we all speak the same language. This clip is quite a sloppily put together anti Obama ad that just cannot fly under any scrutiny. Look what has happened with the desparate 3 am ad that Clinton blessed. It has backfired big time. All you have to do is watch the SNL take on that.
Obama, his campaign, its surrogates and the media have played up the race issue and you lapped right up.
I suppose then, that I would not be any different from you too, who brings Clinton talking points into the discussion.
Why would Obama inject race into the mix? It would be counter to his campaign because whites far outnumber blacks in this country. Besides even if you argue reverse racism, then that should work to Hillary's benefit. But it has not. Obama has been doing well not just because of the African American votes but by huge support from whites and non-whites as well. Hillary was counting on that wedge, but unfortunately for her, it backfired. Just proves to one and all, that the majority of white people are not racist. Obama would not be where he is without the white vote.
Also, the Clinton campaign has continued to inject race into the campaig, The 3am ad did not have one innocent black kid sleeping; the Geraldine Ferraro outburst today and Hillary's refusal to fire her from her finance committee.
Please, do not characterize those who do not agree with you as people who are somehow not independent thinkers and do not use multiple sources for news. That cheapens the discussion.
Obama won in the state of Washington 3 to 1 which does not allow cross over votes as well as Wyoming, Utah, and others.
Thanks. In my caucus, it was a 3 to 1.
There is some truth in what you say. Can we say the same about Hillary? If she were not a woman and if were not the wife of a popular former president, she would have been knocked out in the first round, just by virtue of having voted for the war.
Look where the embarassment of riches has brought us.
I am not giving up on the Democrats. After the bluster dies down on both sides, I think Democrats have no choice but to vote for the nominee. Even if 25% of Clinton supporters and 10% of Obama supporters may sit out the general elections if their candidate does not win, consider, that there are Independents and some Republicans who will vote Democratic because more people than not are fed up with the war in Iraq and will not support 100 years with McCain.
Besides, also on the GOP side, there are fractions between the moderates and the religious right for McCain. That also should be taken into the equation. Many of them will also sit out the general elections, thanks to Rush Limbaugh, Anne Coulter, et al.
Today, they raised more doubts about McCain's health, so let's see where that goes. So hang in there. This nastiness is a projection of gender and racial inequality in this country, but the good news is that America has already changed in the last few months. At least bigotry on race and gender is out in the open and America will have to deal with it or else settle for 4 more years of Bush/McCain.

"Leon Panetta, Bill Clinton's White House chief of staff, and Sandy Berger, Bill Clinton's national security adviser, both said that Hillary Clinton wasn't privy to the president's daily intelligence brief, nor did she sit in on National Security Council meetings."
More to ponder on Foreign Policy experience.
I stated this on another Salon article
