  • Hhatchet -- I never called Obama a racist

[Read the article: Breaking the Democratic deadlock]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Hey, I never referred to Obama as racist. I don't care about his pastor, his wife, his relationships with the Weathermen or all that. I don't think that matters. It just obscures the more serious points about who is funding Obama candidacy, how he voted (or didn't vote) and, whose interests he serves and will serve. I take exception to the call-out as a racist, but I forgive.

I also don't care what religion he his, where he grew up, what celebrities are endorsing him or what his favorite color is. I don't even care if he exaggertaes his personality of personal beliefs. It's all fluff.

What I DO care about is the short and disturbing history of pandering, hypocrisy and counterproductive acts by Obama in only one year of Congress. He's been environmentally destructive, he's got to payback defense contractors and oil companies, and Wall Street powerbrokers that are helping bankroll him. He's got a weak and poorly thought-out health care plan. He'll keep us in Iraq just like McCain.

Look, there is no such thing as a free luch and Obama owes these slimebags once he gets to the White House. It's not the company he keeps in his personal life that I'm afaraid of, it's the company he keeps who are backing him and influencing his agenda. The fact that his spiel is that he is so honorable, etc. is more than a little off-putting. Doesn't he know that his congressional voting history and campaign finances are a matter of record? How stupid does he think we are? And you think Clinton insults our intelligence? Jeez.

If you follow the money, an Obama presidency will scare the bejeesus out of you. I don't need a commercial with bin Laden to be shitting my pants over an Obama presidency. Amd who is to say he'll even be bothered by the gritty details once he' president? I'd be a little pissed if I supported him for his US senate campaign only to have him run off a year later for a bigger prize. No way he accomplished everything he promised to the people of Illinois. Smells like irresponsible opportunism to me.

And I do care about a C.V. and experience. I don't think Obama has enough practical experience. Can we really put a person in charge of the free world with one half-assed year of junior senatorship? This lack of vetting wouldn't fly in the smallest of companies, yet the most powerful nation in the history of the world is going to be run by someone who less than two years ago was sitting in state senate hearings about parking tickets? Is this really hapenning?

C'mon, whatever happened to liberals' hallmark of healthy skepticism of politicians? How did we fall hook, line and sinker for someone who we knew so little about? Wishful naivete is for the blind Bush supporters. We're supposed to be a little more vigilant in selecting our representatives. Suckers born every minute, I reckon.

  • I'll say it again: Obama is not reformer at all

    [Read the article: Super stuck!]

This guy's another empty vessel but with a truly terrible record. His grandstanding about his new way of politics is starting unnerrve some of us on the left.

    Consider:

Voted in favor of the 2005 Energy Policy Act which had huge giveaways, tax breaks, subsidies to the oil companies. Clinton and even McCain (!) voted against this environmental disaster and taxpayer rip-off.

Voted to approve Condaleeza Rice for Secretary of State of United States of America. I would imagine that this is indefensible.

Obama has said that he wants to keep 150,000 private soldiers in Iraq as part of his "end the war" strategy. This includes 60,000 active U.S soldiers to carry out missions against al-Qeda. Kids, he will not end the war for us.

Voted to re-authorize the Patriot Act. Our Obama? Yes.

Voted with Republicans for billions in military apropriations that served the defense contractors in the process. Defense contractors own Obama.

In facts, defense contractors have contributed more to Obama's camapign than even John "100-Year-War" McCain. I guess this explains the bad Iraq war strategy and the appropriations vote.

Voted against updating the Mining Law of 1872, which allows mining companies to pay little to no royalties to mine on public land. Mr. Renewable Energy said that it would be too hard on mining companies who strip mine and removing mountain tops in rural areas. Heck, Obama'll give them a free ride to do it.

    He is FOR liquid coal.

    And the list goes on...

If didn't have such a silver tongue and wasn't so handsome, he'd be long gone by now. What, exactly, is the appeal of Barack Obama? Is anyone doing any homework on this guy?

  • Indianapolis Star editorial board just endorsed Clinton

This Tuesday will be wild, indeed. I hope all the conspiracy theorists on both sides keep their pants on and wait to see what happens.

My friend is a Hoosier and he says he's seen over 60 Obama TV ads in the past 3 days. Had to turn off the TV and he's even an Obama supporter. Looks like Barry is emptying the war chest in Indiana to try to close this out.

  • Our Obama wouldn't never pander... or would he?

Hurry up and sew up that nomination Obama. Do it before any other hyposcriies start leaking out.
