  • To use a baseball analogy

[Read the article: Viva Hillary Clinton!]

He have a hot veteran hitter (Clinton winning 3 out of ever 4 primaries lately) who we have dceide to sit on the bench.

Meanwhile, we have a slumping rookie (Obama) who has had a couple of good months at the beginning of the season, so his season average looks ok, but he has clearly been unable to hit the ball out of the infield for some time now. But upper management has been grooming this youngster and they are going with him come hell or high water.

Are we going to head into the World Series and start a scuffling greenhorn? Over a hot-hitting veteran? Really? Also, Clinton has faced Republican pitching for years and has done very well, thank you. She knows what they throw and how to hit it. Obama, it seems, is till learnting how to handle softballs from his own party.

Are the Democrats that out of touch with reality, so conflict averse and so allergic to competition that they'll still put Obama out there against McCain when he's consistently losing primaries in his own party? Do they want to win this thing or are they just love-struck over the new guy?

Makes no sense to me. Maybe the Supers will take into account momentun, swing states, and second half batting average. A good baseball manager sure would.

  • The best candidate did not win

Obama had one good month and he's lost 3 out of 4 primaries down the stretch.

Clinton offers more progressive health care and better energy policy than Barack "Protect the Mining Companies' Obama. He is for liquid coal, for Christ's sake! This guy is an environmental disaster. Does anyone even care about Global Warming anymore or are we just seduced by his man's charisma? Sitting down with dictators, too? This can't be happening.

Man, this is shame. How shallow have we become? We will rue the day we fell for this inexperienced con man.

Back to a lesser of two evils again. Sigh.

  • Jerry Lewis?

Surely I am not the first one to mention the French people's fascination with our esteemed and respected comedian. This is France. Grain or two of salt, people.

  • Perhaps this will send a much-needed message to Obama's camp?

As a man of color who supports HRC, I am still holding out hope that she can become the nominee. Let;s face it, the only momentum Obama has is with folks on the other side of the pond. He was beaten repeatedly in the late primaries and now is neck-and-neck with the feeble McCain in many national polls. Obama has had the momentum of a sinking stone for months now.

And do we really want a candidate who:

Renounced a pledge to use public funding for a national election?

    Will give spying telecoms immunity?

Has a half-baked health care plan?

    Supports the death penalty?

Still has no concrete plan to get us out of Iraq?

Is considering drilling off our shores?

Is open to the un-American notion of Bush's Faith-Based intitiative?

WI still do not see why we have fall in-line with this lightweight sell-out at this point? Aren't conventions a place where parties are supposed to select candidates and air out grievances? Or is it really just one big, unwatchable infomercial? At the least we should hold him accountable for his blunders at the convention. It's our last chance to send a message to his right-sliding candidacy. Because after the convention he's - gulp - on his own.

Yes, I'll happily vote for Obama if/when he gets the nomination, but I hardly think we should get out the anointing oil now that we know that we know about him.

  • She deserves this, we deserve this

    Good for Hillary!

Maybe her presence will help undo Obama's stupid approach to national health care, telecom immunity, offshore drillingm etc. We will hear someone with the fortitude to let Russia know that their aggression in the Caucasus will not stand. It could be a great contrast to the handsome, smiling Kumbaya Kid who is eager to sip tea with dictators and talk tough about tire gauges. This guy is turning out to be a smooth jazz remix of Michael Dukakis.

I will vote for Obama, but most of see that he looks weaker every day. I can't wait to see Hillary give the Dems back some fighting spirit. Sure, the sexism will fly off the handle at this announcement(calling her a "whore" om this forum?), but Hillary's the one with the teeth here.

Besides, she won most of the big states and was beating Obama consistently down the stretch. She was the candidate with the momentum going into this, not Obama. Sure there is a lot of buyers remorse put there about Obama and this could feed more of it, but Barack is the one who can't seem to put away the feeble McCain.

Now we'll finally see what a post 9-11 Democratic President looks like.

  • Some people are just put-off by Obama

[Read the article: Angry PUMAs on the prowl in Denver]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I am a man of color and I support Hillary Clinton. I find Obama an unproven, confidence man with a resume as light as a feather who is going to get my party's nomination on the strength of 6 good weeks. The overall primary race was razor-thin, Clinton won must of the swing states, most of the late primaries and, last I checked, neither candidate got the required amount to secure nomination under party rules. All Obama has done since the end of primaries is squander a double digit lead in the polls to the feeble and confused John McCain. Of course people are freaking out and not ready to fall in line with Obama and the party rulers. I know we should be good soldiers and do what we are told, but I'll throw my support to Obama when all the dissenting voices are heard in full.

These PUMAs seem like misguided, jilted supporters to me, but they are the last obstacle between the frightening neophyte Barack Obama and the anointing oil. At least someone is still speaking up...
