  • Impeachment takes only a majority in the house

    You said:

"If Bush critics in the House and Senate can't muster the votes to limit his escalation of the war, how will they impeach him?"

Tha house democrats HAD ENOUGH votes to pass a limit on the war, but that limit was vetoed by Bush. Bush could not veto an impeachment, so therefore the votes very well could be there.

  • Salon applying for entry into the MSM?

What's with the "Hillary is from Mars, Obama is from Venus" article today in Salon, Glenn. I would say, from your past writings on these types of articles, that you should comment on Salon's decision to run such a piece.

  • I also see a Salon contradiction today

Where is the outrage that Salon publishes a ridiculous article "Hillary is from Mars, Obama is from Venus" after several articles such as this one by Glenn Greenwald in the same publication:

Chris Matthews on Fred Thompson's sexiness and smells

  • Aren't you sort of Obligated

"I write about something when I think I have something worthwhile to say about it - something that isn't being said in a lot of other places or that I think can have an impact in some way. If I don't have anything particularly new or insightful to say about the Harriet Miers story, I'm not going to create a post about it just because it is The Most Important Story of the Day."

I would think that you would have something to say about the "Hillary Is From Mars, Obama Is From Venus" article since you so eloquently critisized that type of article in several recent posts. It makes me think that you are afraid of biting the hand that feeds you, which we so often claim is a main reason the MSM has so many problems.

  • Unanswered question

"Hillary Clinton, the domineering, emasculating, pants-wearing dyke"

Once again I ask, "Why is it that Salon is not called out for the ridiculous 'Hillary is from Mars, Obama is from Venus' article? I still say that if Salon can publish an article like that, where do you come off scolding the MSM for their articles?

I have brought this subject up numerous times without any reply from Glenn (If he did reply and I missed it, I'm sorry).

  • But you work there.

"There seems to be some sense that I have a special obligation here to attack this article because it was in Salon -- as though I am responsible for its content or that I have to prove that I'm willing to criticize Salon. I'm not responsible for their content and I don't feel the slightest obligation to prove anything."

Don't you think that your position is compromised, in the sense that you are citicizing others for the same such drivel that is being published in the "paper" that you are associated with. Don't you feel that Salon should be held to the same standard as other publications. Doesn't this fall somewhere in the realm of hypocrisy?

"The gossip rag's latest scoop reveals much about its standards, but even more about our largest media outlets."

You point the finger at "our largest media outlets", but don't acknowledge Salon's own role in the gossip.

Don't get me wrong. I'm sure that I am one of your most enthusiastic readers. I agree with 99.9% of everything that you write, and I check your blog everyday for some sane analysis. Between you and Bob Somerby(sp?) (The Daily Howler), I get the insite that is sorely needed at this time in our history. I just feel very strongly that Salon should not have let that article be published, and that you have an obligation to say something about it since you are associated with them, considering that you have written about the subject on numerous occasions. If you don't feel the same, fine. I will leave it here. Thanks for the earlier reply.
