  • whoa, states in play

Texas, Oklahoma and Arizona -- and maybe even California.

Slow down there, Texas and Oklahoma aren't even close to being in play for the democrats. I'd love to dream that's the case but it's just not reality. Arizona has been slowing shifting Dem but if McCain's the candidate it'll take Napolitano on the ticket to have any chance of getting Arizona. I'll grant you that there should be a minor concern about California but really, it's pretty solidly blue. I hate this swing state crap on the past few elections but some states just aren't in play for either side.

    Oops, I said.

However, McCain's experience is irrelevant., I think it's pretty clear there are strongly support republicans who will GOTV.

However, McCain's experience is irrelevant., I think it's pretty clear there are NO strongly supported republicans who will GOTV.

ah the divider of the Democratic party that helped cost us the 1980 election

Wow, this is stunning. Carter did just perfectly fine at losing the 1980 election. I can't recall a weaker incumbent up for election in the past 75 years.

You imply that you've dismissed Obama because all you know is that he's biracial and liberal.

I'm comfortable with folks who have taken the time to learn about all the candidates and decide one way or the other but this election cycle has provided a vast amount of information on all 3 candidates positions. All the candidates have substance beyond a face value judgement and that includes Clinton and Obama and to suggest otherwise is pretty disingenuous I did my research on all the candidates by visiting their webpages and other sites such as http://www.ontheissues.org as well as watching them at the debates. Have you done yours or are you just going to stick to identity politics mudslinging?

This is the big announcement? Waters has been cited by CREW as 1 of the 13 most corrupt congressional members in the country. Nice endorsement there.

I'm really not the biggest fan of what I perceive is Broadsheet's overprotection of Clinton but holy shit some of you really take the cake. Give credit where credit is due. The write up here and the contrast with the national chapter deserves kudos.

Take off the tin foil hat and back away slowly. There's as much to this story as there was to whole Vince Foster story

  • it's up for grabs

[Read the article: Clinton: "Tonight is America's night"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

it's all about the delegate count. It's going to be a virtual tie tonight and it's all about the next 4 weeks. This will be decided on 3/4. It's the campaigns' job now to generate money, win voters and get elected. Anyone who delcares a clear victory tonight is delusional

  • how are you people calling this for either candidate?

[Read the article: Clinton wins California, Arizona]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

After super delegates are counted were looking at approximately 60 delegate difference. That's just 3% of the required delegates for the nomination. This is overtime folks. We're effectively starting from scratch. The next 4 weeks are the critical votes with 3/4 being the day we're likely to see a nominee. This election is going to be about generating money, spending well and having a good ground game.

  • Obama's Narrative for 2/5

[Read the article: How Obama won Missouri]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Is how many states he won and the fact that he and Clinton virtually tied the pledged delegates when she had a national lead of as much as 20 points a few weeks ago. So, Missouri wasn't about delegates for Obama, it was about # of states won because the delegates were a tie.

  • Confirmed

[Read the article: Will Clinton begin funding her own campaign?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

A few news outlets are now reporting that Hillary loaned her campaign $5 million last month. That's not good news for February in which she has already made a big spend for 2/5

  • her senior staffers are now not getting paid

[Read the article: Will Clinton begin funding her own campaign?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I'm stunned at how bad of shape her campaign is in financially. She's hurting on money badly. Her senior staffers are now working without a salary and that 5 million she loaned herself is mostly, if not all gone, on advertising this past Tuesday. She's asked for her supporters to donate $3 million in 3 days while Obama has gotten $2.2 million in 24 hours without trying hard. She's on the ropes and she needs to do everything she can to distance herself from Obama in a month or she just wont be able to carry on.
