  • Pretty in Pink

[Read the article: Not another teen video game]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Oh, I hate that movie! She picked the wrong guy AND that dress at the end was so ugly. Pink is NOT Molly's color. Maybe the game is to get it right this time?

If they’re really trying to get the Gen-X ladies I wonder why they don’t re-release the Oregon Trail or an adult version of ‘Where in the World.’ That might get me interested – these old movies not so much.

  • Yeah it’s a (bad) joke – and she started it!

[Read the article: Respect the Web geek's cock!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Julia Allison wrote this article on how to pick-up men at tech conferences. She acted like a real tart and she got a lot of attention and this clip is an extension of that ‘joke.’ It’s like the Heidi/Spencer (why are they famous again?) publicity machine – they don’t care what people say as long as they get attention.

  • He’s got my vote and my money

[Read the article: Is Barack cheating on Hillary?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

But I’m just not feeling the love like so many of my fellow democrats. It’s not that I’m pissed – it’s just that I really do like Hillary for Hillary and he can’t just toss any woman at me like it's all the same. And when I hear stuff like ‘idiotic’ and ‘sore loser’ I wonder what the hell is up with people. Is this talk supposed to give me Obama Fever? Because its not.

That said - it’s not like I’m voting for McCain (I don’t know any Hillary supporters who are – that’s got to be really fringe). I just really liked Hillary and I remain disappointed. I mean - ‘addle-brained’? How about we stop arguing among ourselves and keep our eyes on the prize?

  • Come on people! They made her look white.

[Read the article: Beyond the pale]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

It might not have been done with Photoshop – but I really don’t see how using old fashioned techniques like casting too much light on her or using heavy make-up is any better. Let’s not pretend this was just a quick snap shot that only a couple of people looked at before it was released. L’Oreal knew just what they were doing.

I know black people tan or get washed out by a flash and I know it’s more then cool for us all to play with the color of our hair and make-up – but this photo crosses those lines. I feel like they made her look white because white is 'better' and they're trying to sell a product to make you 'better.' Icky.

  • I doubt it

[Read the article: A world where men wear skirts]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I don’t think most guys know what skirts are really about. It all looks so breezy and care free from a distance but that’s not the reality - the first time his boxers bunch up and he realizes what a VPL is and how delicate areas get chaffed it’s all over (I’m talking about you’re balls and inner thighs, fellows). I mean – can you imagine a guy with a collection of spanks, slips or thongs? And is wearing a skirt really worth it to a guy if he's wearing bike shorts under it anyway?

There was a skirt trend for guy’s right around the Grunge era and it never really caught on. Not even in NYC and San Fran. I don’t see this one catching on either.

  • Re: Skinny jeans?

[Read the article: A world where men wear skirts]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I have lots of gay friends who wear women’s jeans. Just as tight as they can get them too – like you can’t sit down in them tight. These days more manufactures are catching on and you can now buy them made for men. They are generally very expensive (in excess of $200).

Do you really wear skinny jeans? I have a feeling you wear boot cut – most guys have ditched the baggy in favor of that more classic cut.

  • If it’s so important…

[Read the article: "We want our kids back too"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Then why isn’t this Salon’s cover page? I seem to recall Elizabeth Smart getting a decent amount of Salon coverage back in the day (a quick search confirms that) but none of these black kids did.

I mean – if it’s really such a big deal (and I agree that it is) you need to do a better job of covering these black kidnappings too or it just sounds hypocritical.

  • Ouch!

[Read the article: Like a woman scorned]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I’ve seen most of them before (and the billboard one is for sure an ad) but I still get a kick out of them. I’m especially fond of the garage door whore and the trailer with the ‘cheating husband’ banner (the more destructive ones aren’t much fun).

But I don’t think of it as empowering and am surprised anyone would. When I laugh, cringe and shake my head at these photos I’m just as flabbergasted and darkly entertained by the ‘scorned woman’ as I am by the ‘whore’ who needs to repaint her garage door and break up with her married boyfriend.

  • I heart Heart

[Read the article: Your daily Palin]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

When I heard them playing Heart’s ‘Barracuda’ at the convention I had a flash back to Reagan using ‘Born in the USA.’

Don't republicans listen to rock music at all? How could they not know? You would think, at the very least, an intern would have googled the lyrics or done a little bit of research on the politics of the Wilson sisters.

Next thing you know the Fannie and Freddie are going to be using 'Little Pink Houses' as their theme song...

  • Why you can’t argue with proponents of this amendment:

[Read the article: Did you just call me a zygote?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Because they have no understanding of basic human biology and they don’t care. You can try to talk to them about the wall of the uterus and how many zygotes are destined to just flush out of a woman’s system with no help from anyone anyway - but they’ll just start talking about how cave-men lived with dinosaurs and the Baby Jesus is the only path to salvation.

I’m with Farnsworth: this specific issue is a red herring. What we should be talking about is how any lunatic idea under the sun can be brought to a popular vote.

  • I don't see the point...

[Read the article: No undie Sunday!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Because if you’re that quick to take off your undies you don’t have to worry about paying for drinks in the first place ;)
