Great tune!
[Read the article: Exclusive Song of the Day: "Hardwire," Metric]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It sounds a lot more disco than new wave, to my ears anyway.
Haines' solo album "Knives Don't Have Your Back" is a gem too, and sounds absolutely nothing like this. I love her versatility.

Joe Klein, attention whore
[Read the article: Various items]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Frankly, I think it only gratifies Joe Klein to be the recipient of any sort of attention, from the blogosphere or elsewhere. It's been 'all about him' since he was revealed as the writer of "Primary Colors".
He's the Paris Hilton of Beltway media. Applaud him, decry him, it doesn't matter -- as long as you're talking about him.

Sissy?
[Read the article: Charlie Savage at FDL Book Salon]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]People still use that word?
Careful he doesn't dip your ponytail in the inkwell of the desk behind you, Glenn.

subscription fee?
[Read the article: Blog fundraising]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I don't know what percentage of your blog traffic is paid subscribers as opposed to people who click-through the advertisements, but would it make a difference to your bottom line, Glenn, if more people bought full Salon subscriptions?

Well then, let's check Hersh's New Yorker article
[Read the article: The remaining GOP base -- the 30%'ers and the Broder/Ignatius pundit]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]We read:
"Bryan Whitman, a Pentagon spokesman, said, “The President has made it clear that the United States government remains committed to a diplomatic solution with respect to Iran. The State Department is working diligently along with the international community to address our broad range of concerns.” (The White House declined to comment.)
I was repeatedly cautioned, in interviews, that the President has yet to issue the “execute order” that would be required for a military operation inside Iran, and such an order may never be issued.
In contrast to Broder and Ignatius, Hersh sought comment from an opposing viewpoint and stated it explicitly within his article.
Try again, shooter.

Please disinvite me from your celebration of humanity
[Read the article: Stop your sobbing]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Even if the Earth heats up to such an extent that every last vestige of humankind disappears, there may still exist living systems, just not ones that can sustain us.
Yeah, enviro-losers! Suck on that! CELEBRATE!!!!!

Huh?
[Read the article: The paranoid withdrawal fantasy]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]This kind of partisan rancor and mutual recrimination are the sad legacy of two self-destructive administrations in a row. Bill Clinton's lies about his dalliance with Monica Lewinsky paralyzed the government and tainted his legacy, while George Bush's poor judgment and managerial ineptitude have mired us in an endless, brutal war with little chance for a happy ending.
"Two self-destructive administrations in a row"?
It's unseemly to draw any sort of equivalence between Clinton lying about a sexual affair and Bush initiating a war that has destabilized the entire Middle East, killed hundreds of thousands, and cost trillions of dollars.
Oh well - six of one, half dozen of the other.
