This was a really great piece of writing; incisive and well written...and funny! Thanks for a great little slice of America on Election Night 2006.

  • Isn't It a Little Early For This?

[Read the article: Is there life after Bush?]

President Bush has twenty three months left in office. Knowing him and Cheney (as we should by now), they will not let their lame duck prevent them from taking any action they deem "necessary," regardless of the wishes of the electorate. Rather than speculating on how people will "feel" and "be" after he's gone, might it be a little more fitting to be concentrating on preventing him from causing even more damage to this country rather than speculating about what it's going to be like twenty three months from now? The way world events go these days, that amount of time is a long one indeed.

David, you'll make a great revisionist historian one day.

Sgt. Pepper is overrated one week, and Journey rules the next. Uh huh. Perhaps next week you can write about how Leo Sayer is the pre-eminent rocker of his generation rather than Springsteen, and how MC Hammer wasn't that much different than Public Enemy.

I enjoyed Journey when I was 12 and bought "Escape," but as I grew older, I found that for me, they were on the shallow end of the depth pool. Look, you love 'em, God bless - but I'd love to know how many times you REALLY play them over the course of a year.

That being said, the use of the song in the show WAS brilliant, and would be something that Tony would absolutely play. It worked on many levels.
