  • Answer to stupid fantasy land question

[Read the article: Barack Obama's epic win]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

"Now, before resorting to more ad hominem typical of Obamabots, ask yourself this question: would you have been so enamored with him had he been a half Japanese, half white with an association to a Japanese fascist group that believes in Iapanese supremacy and a glorification to Japan's war crimes in WWII?"

    ---

Yes...if he planned on getting the US out of war that should never have been authorized and waged. And until he got in a Kamakazi plane and headed for Hawaii, I'd support him. I wouldn't be voting for his past associations.

  • @Nancy ..re:correction

[Read the article: Barack Obama's epic win]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

That's why Obama and McCain are both often referred to as the presumptive nominees.

It's not official for either until their party conventions (which are nothing more these days than coronation ceremonies) are held.

    The general election has begun.

  • Consumer spending

[Read the article: Market crashes. Dow down 400 points. Blame Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

They always say 2/3 of the economy here is consumer spending.

So what if some big time gamblers cash in their chips early.

Time to try "trickle up" economics. Or we might as well hand over all our money to some hot craps shooter in Vegas if we want to keep letting gamblers have such influence in the economy.

  • Class definitions

[Read the article: Relax, liberals. You've already won]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    How about this?

If you and/or your spouse, or you alone, could quit your job today and still have enough money to live on (whether you have to scale back is irrelevant) then you are upper-middle class or wealthy.

If you have to work until you're dead - you're working class.

If you have to work until you have enough to retire - you're middle class.

  • McKeating...

[Read the article: Bush says he regrets tone on Iraq]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

How does that sound? In addition to all this, never forget:

    McKeating.....

  • McKeating

[Read the article: He's a young black guy, and that's a problem for some folks]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

How many more banks can be robbed???

    How soon we forget.

  • East coast revival

[Read the article: Lakers beat Celtics: Was the fix in again?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

If there was a fix, it was in favor of Celtics.

Really, all of sudden there are all these studs that can guard Kobe without fouling....REALLY????

If anything the NBA would love to see increased interest in East Coast, with the population concentration, and with the Knicks being...well, the Knicks....there's always Boston.

    But we will see.

  • Titanic Analogy

[Read the article: Going down with the Titanic?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Some other thing to consider with this one for fun...(somebody may have pointed this out already)

The poor, working class people confined to the lower levels went down with the Titanic.

Reagan Dems and Working class Republicans anyone????

  • Nothing New Under The Sun

[Read the article: Relax, liberals. You've already won]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Just an off the cuff obervation...

But the root of the "conservative counterrevolution" has always seemed to grow out of Social Darwinism.

Too bad a lot of broke people continue to vote for and idolize people who wouldn't spit on them if they were on fire.

off the cuff observation - correction.

  • Humans

    [Read the article: Hard drive]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Actually...most human behavior is learned. That has made us the creatures we are today.

Let's not forget that barely studied aspect of humans called "imagination".

Please, no more of this BS about men and women not being able to help the way they are.

  • @6Stringer

    [Read the article: Various items]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I couldn't agree more about the Democrats fear of investigation and their complicity in Bush Administration crimes.

Of course, they want to be able to continue wire-tapping...they need to find out who has the goods on them and who is planning to do something about these lies and crimes.

Didn't Pelosi get a tour of G Bay???

  • @aka Smith

[Read the article: Tennessee Dem leader suggests Obama has terrorist connections]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Obama supporters aren't concerned about him simply knowing radical has-beens like Ayers and Wright.

The terrorist connections surrounding him among current congressional Democrats and Republicans is what should have us all alarmed.

  • Superstar rules

[Read the article: Superstar rules help the Lakers]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

They're helping KG quite a bit as well.....

  • Re: Condi and Colin

[Read the article: The new racist, anti-Obama fashion statement]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    "racism and condi

ok but where are all of these republican racist hatemongers when it comes to condi, or colin powell? are they there but i don't know about it? curious...

    -- Kristinab "

You never saw it because they were appointed and not elected.

  • End All of This Tomorrow

[Read the article: McCain on Iran: Bush all over again]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Agree to divide the oil profits 50/50.

  • Blue Dog Enabling

[Read the article: Obama, telecoms and the Beltway system]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    Electoral Votes anyone?

It's not the popular vote that has the final say in Presidential elections.

As for war, does anyone else think now that the Big 4 oil companies have their no bid contracts in place that the troops will finally be moved out of Iraq?

    ...and into Iran?

    Lotta oil left to get.

  • Something is about to happen

[Read the article: George Bush's latest powers, courtesy of the Democratic Congress]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

And the Dems don't want to be blamed for hampering "intelligence" operations.

    It's about to go down...

    Pearl Harbor/911 style...

  • We will see...

[Read the article: Obama says he supports FISA compromise]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

"...It also firmly re-establishes basic judicial oversight over all domestic surveillance in the future. It does, however, grant retroactive immunity, and I will work in the Senate to remove this provision so that we can seek full accountability for past offenses..."

We will see when the bill arrives at the Senate.

Amazing that the Afghanistan prison break happened just before this came up to vote...it's so easy to scare the Dems.

  • Time

[Read the article: Obama says he supports FISA compromise]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

It took damn near 50 years to get enough people in this country that would vote for someone like G Bush II for two terms, because Dems became mostly a bunch of unorganized whiners.

There has been a slow coming around, but change is not something that is going to be secured in one Presidential primary season.

Democratic voters have finally been organized into a perceived movement that even has the likes of John McCain flip-flopping around to get votes.

Get used to it folks...the fight has just begun. And you'll have more punches to take but you stay in the fight. You'll get your chance for the knockout blow.

  • @Ouroburus -Obama and the Telecoms

[Read the article: George Bush's latest powers, courtesy of the Democratic Congress]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Campaign donations from individual employees, managers, execs, etc. at a company is not mean they are lobbying for the company they work for in any way.

Whenever you donate, you have to list place of employment.

I work for a media giant, but most of those around me at work can't stand the news division's right wing BS. There are many, many people in the oil, media and telecom industries that do not agree with the Bush Administration tactics or supporters.
