Are Not Most Blacks Working Class?

Maybe the Oprah endorsement has people fooled. Most Blacks are working class, so this a a BIG fallacy that Obama doesn't appeal to the "working class".

Another thing...the working class, white, black, whatever, has more in common with Obama than Hillary. She grew up in a very priveleged household and at the start in her younger years was a card carrying Republican.

The only thing the white working class has in common with Hillary is that she's white.

I think the biggest difference in appeal of the candidates is not Race, Gender, or Class - but age.

Ready for Black Leaders?

Obama, Colin Powell, Oprah, Tiger Woods,etc...

Yeah Americans are only ready to embrace the most exceptionally talented and educated Blacks as "leaders" in certain fields. I believe the same holds true to women.

Now - if that standard had only been applied to people like Bush, we wouldn't be in a lot of the mess we're in.

Different Standards

One of the favorite tricks of the establishment is to make it look like Blacks and Women get "free passes" because of race and/or gender(exemplified in coverage of Obama and Clinton).

But history shows us that all a while priveleged male has to do is "show up" and they are assumed to be ready to take control.

If you don't like the over-reaching executive powers granted (or taken)by Bush II, then watch how if a Black man or a Woman becomes president they become questioned (the media would all of a sudden cover this DAILY)and rejected.

Enough already

After the Petraeus testimony today...none of this matters.

Obama and Clinton supporters need to hold their candidates' feet to the fire and demand that they at least attempt to lead their fellow Democrats in Congress to REFUSE TO CONTINUE TO FUND THE IRAQ WAR.

Let's see which one steps up to the plate.

It would even be a step forward if either of them (hopefully both) voted no the next time the offering plate is passed in Congress for the contractors.

Original article: Sizing up Petraeus on Iraq

And take a look to the South

The point of the the occupation is to keep the Middle East destabilized. US Gov't doesn't want to control Iraq...they know they can't. They want the military industrial complex (I'm beginning to hate this generic term - so let's name some names - Haliburton, Lockheed, Exxon Mobile, Unocal....) to be able to control markets and resources.

I'm preaching to the choir.

But take heed kiddies...why do you think Bush, on his way out, is pushing so hard for the Columbia trade agreement????

Just speculating, but how about some fat (or would it be phat?) change for the Columbians so they can attack VENEZUALA !!! The current administration has a hard on to get Chavez and since the military is a "bit" preoccupied in the Middle East...

I'm just sayin...

Long suspected

A couple of comments here are tongue-in-cheek, but what I long suspected.

PCs (Microsoft) are collecting data and sending it to some database.

However, I don't have a Mac, but no reason to think Apple isn't doing the same thing - just faster.

Operation Mockingbird

No surprise that Operation Mockingbird continues in some form or fashion.

We all know that big corporations and government are linked like chinese handcuffs.

But the hard and tough question is just how many "journalists" over the years have actually been agents of the government themselves.

Original article: Let's dump "Earth Day"

Finally Someone Said It

I've been maintaining for years now that the earth can recover from any damage we humans do.

"Save The Planet" has always really been "Save Ourselves".

Unfortunately, the planet will begin to recover the sooner we're gone. The effects of a nuclear war, for example, would be devestating to humans, but with us gone, the earth will definately recover.

Clinton tactics will work better for McCain

If Clinton gets the nomination, which I doubt, the tactics she's used against Obama and the reasoning the poor white Democrats used in choosing her over Obama would work against her with McCain.

She would essentially become Obama-like in their minds after the GOP is through.

Like someone said before, when push came to shove, these are the same democrats that voted for Bush and Reagan.

And I'm sure the superdelegates must know this...

Where did I say Pennsylvania DEMORCRATS? As a whole....

I said Poor Whites. No where did I single out PA.

I wasn't specifically saying in one state...when you add it up as a whole across the country - you get REAGAN / BUSH

The merging of Clinton/McCain

"That might be true in a good economy, but those Reagan Democrats are hurtin. No way are PA, OH, MI going to vote for the GOP."

All McCain has to do is lie to them on the campaign trail (unless some of you here actually believe that "straight talk express" bull)...they are ready and willing to believe anything he says over Hillary or Barack.

Last Time - Most Black People are Working Class

"nor will african-americans buck 100 years of trends and vote for a Republican.

but the working class might."

Black People are working class...to say Obama doesn't appeal to working class people is thus false.

And no...Black people aren't the loyal dog you can kick over and over again and they still not do something about it.

Firenze

I've always thought as well that Black people are considerably socially conservative is some instances, espcially in regards to religious issues...but they'll vote they're econmonic interest (or what they think is in they're economic interest - as working class people) each time. The entire working class should be that monolithic with their votes and we wouldn't be in the position we're in today.

If you had a more Black people in the higher income brackets...you would see more division among the Blace vote.

Politicians

Politicians haven't kept too many promises to anyone - unless you have "Corp." at the end of your name.
