HUH?!?
[Read the article: Clinton gets her party started]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Anyone who sees Super Tuesday as a big win for Clinton is downright delusional. The situation is clearly quite the reverse. In fact - given the history of Clinton's long national lead - anything short of a big win for Clinton is clearly a loss - since it proves that Obama has all of the momentum (Really, Rebecca, what are you up to here? Casting Clinton as the one who was supposed to lose - so that when she ties it looks like SHE has the momentum? Pretty transparent politicking on your part, if you ask me).
And as it looks now, the final delgate count may well even favour Obama for Tuesday - which would be a complete disaster for Clinton.
Here is why - all of the pending primaries (Nebraska, Louisiana, and Washington - February 9) (DC, Maryland, and Virginia - February 12) - all favour Obama - and will favour him all the more given this big night. Then - there is a strong liklihood that momentum gained in these states will finally push him ahead in the final holdouts, Texas, Ohio, and Pennsylvania (that is, if he doesn't pull ahead after yesterday).

Sorry
[Read the article: Sweet home Chicago]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]For reposting what I first posted in Traister's column - here - but this discussion needs to hear this as well, apparently.

Obviously. . .
[Read the article: Make your own candidate]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]. . . you did it because your oh so bloody smart and principled. Bully for you. Or is it Bullshit for you? Or just bullshit that I'm smelling.
Face it - if your so left that Kucinich is your top choice - and you don't vote Obama - your just letting pretentious political posturing stand in the way of rational decision making (the same way I did when I voted Nader in 2000 - and look what that got all the Naderites).

Good Grief!!
[Read the article: What I wouldn't do for my cat]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The self-righteousness of all those who think you should do everything medically possible - no matter your personal financial situation - is beyond belief, and actually quite dispicable if you really think about it.
Yes - a pet owner has responsibilities. But would all you moralizers out their really argue that a millionare - who might spend tens of thousands of dollars in vet bills on an ailing pet - is somehow a more moral pet owner than someone who might only be able to put up thousands? Because that is what you are implying when you argue that those who can't put up thousands in the case of an emergency - shouldn't be owners in the first place. this millionaire could easily make the same point against you. What - not ready to pay 100,000 to save your pet? FOR SHAME!!!
And thnik for a minute about Barbaro's owners. Who did have the millions necessary to try and save him? And all the pain ad suffering they put him through in the process. CLEARLY, there is much, much more about pet ownership and love than being able and willing to put oneself into long term debt in order to save a loved pet. Especially when doing so puts one's self and ones human family members in financial danger (and all the other risks that brings with it) in the process. Not to mention what all these resources might be able to do in saving human lives if diverted instead to the third world.
And I love my dog - and cat - as much as any of the rest of you. And anyone who says otherwise - well - I must say that you probably are in need of a good ass kickin'.

Thanks
[Read the article: Election results: Who's ahead in the delegate race?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I am also pleased that you have seperated the Superdelegates from the assigned delegates. Very helpful.
But one thing still confuses me. My understanding is that all of the delegates from Supertuesday are yet to be assigned - and when they are, Obama will likely pull further ahead. Can someone speak to this issue?
