GracieGirl

I grew up in the U.S. - and am very familiar with the basic chinese-american food talked about in this interview. Now I have lived in Singapore for going on three years. One of the most notable things I commented on ver early (and often, since)- is that there is not a single dish that I have tried in singapore that resembles the basic fare you get at your typical chinese-american buffett. Sure, stir-fry dishes do contain beef, brocolli, baby corn - all the things mentioned. But the presentation - the mixture of seasonings, the proportions, etc. are all very different. And yes - most of the time, it is a single vegetable - with garlic or oyster sauce.

Original article: Obama's got ground game

Ready on Day One

"said Obama strategist Robert Gibbs. "For the candidate or the campaign that seems to discuss that they're ready from Day One, they didn't seem to have a plan from Day One for this campaign." "

This point hasn't been made nearly enoguh. I mean - how are we really supposed to believe that of Hillary now? Given her arrogance in not preparing for any eventualities beyond Texas ? If she were to win, where else would this arrogance raise its ugly head? Is she really ready to go from day one? Is she really ready to take dealing with congress into the 10th inning should she have to? To take dealing with a national crisis somewhere beyond lowest common denominator expectations (now pushed even lower after Bush/Katrina)? To take crisis talks about nuclear (dis)armament with Russia as far as they need to go? To take talks between Palestinians and Israel as far as they need to go? Or will she arrogantly go into all of these things with only half a game plan? And so – yeah – sure – Hillary may well be ready to go on day one – but given the way she has run her campaign it’s not day one that I’m worried about.

And really fhunter. Why would Rove possibly do what you suggest? When every poll indicates that Obama does better against McCain then Hillary does? And given Obama's huge grass roots campaing that has every indication of outwitting the polls in a way that decidedly advantages Obama? So - why don't you just go eat your sour grapes in a corner somewhere and shut up until the primary is over. We'll take you back in the fall when you're over your temper tantrum. No worries.

Thanks

I am also pleased that you have seperated the Superdelegates from the assigned delegates. Very helpful.

But one thing still confuses me. My understanding is that all of the delegates from Supertuesday are yet to be assigned - and when they are, Obama will likely pull further ahead. Can someone speak to this issue?

Good Grief!!

The self-righteousness of all those who think you should do everything medically possible - no matter your personal financial situation - is beyond belief, and actually quite dispicable if you really think about it.

Yes - a pet owner has responsibilities. But would all you moralizers out their really argue that a millionare - who might spend tens of thousands of dollars in vet bills on an ailing pet - is somehow a more moral pet owner than someone who might only be able to put up thousands? Because that is what you are implying when you argue that those who can't put up thousands in the case of an emergency - shouldn't be owners in the first place. this millionaire could easily make the same point against you. What - not ready to pay 100,000 to save your pet? FOR SHAME!!!

And thnik for a minute about Barbaro's owners. Who did have the millions necessary to try and save him? And all the pain ad suffering they put him through in the process. CLEARLY, there is much, much more about pet ownership and love than being able and willing to put oneself into long term debt in order to save a loved pet. Especially when doing so puts one's self and ones human family members in financial danger (and all the other risks that brings with it) in the process. Not to mention what all these resources might be able to do in saving human lives if diverted instead to the third world.

And I love my dog - and cat - as much as any of the rest of you. And anyone who says otherwise - well - I must say that you probably are in need of a good ass kickin'.

Original article: Make your own candidate

Obviously. . .

. . . you did it because your oh so bloody smart and principled. Bully for you. Or is it Bullshit for you? Or just bullshit that I'm smelling.

Face it - if your so left that Kucinich is your top choice - and you don't vote Obama - your just letting pretentious political posturing stand in the way of rational decision making (the same way I did when I voted Nader in 2000 - and look what that got all the Naderites).
