When I consider how challenging it is for writers to get paid to write, when I reflect upon all the writing talent in the world, and then I read this rough work by Sloane Crosley, I am afraid I have to agree with other comments that indicate she must have this job because she is well-connected.

Seriously, this was, imho, a delightful bit of memoir. I disagree with comments that suggest it is puerile.

But this reads, to me, as an unformed early draft, with no artistry, no careful attention to craft and the shape of story. The content is good, the writing talent is here but Ms. Crosley is sloppy. This reads like something she dashed off the top of her head.

Gee, I thought people who got paid to write, um, were paid to shape and edit their work, turning rough gems into jewels.

Ms. Sloane Crosley needs more discipline.

My comment is unedited, has no shape. AND . . . I am not getting paid to write it.

    Does she have any editors?!
