  • On with the show.

[Read the article: Is airport security futile?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I'm in the mood for more airport entertainment. I think I'll encourage some local toupee wearing fellow to hide firecrackers under his piece. Just think of the fun. Now, along with all of those folks bailing our their luggage, we can sit by and watch the hillarious new addition of the TSA corps yanking on everyone's hair before they can proceed to their gate.

I've got another knee slapper in the works for denture wearers, too.

The point is, the wacko's have already won without inflicting any injuries. They have the entire aviation world marching to their tune whenever they feel like it. They pull the strings and then grin while the puppets dance.

  • From Milwaukee

[Read the article: When Barry passes Hank]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Having lived in Milwaukee for my 60 years, and having had the unforgettable influence of a world championship when I was 10, Hank Aaron is one of my life's strongest memories.

Barry Bonds deserves the opportunity to do what he is doing but, if I could talk him in to it, I would tell him to tie the record and then retire. His standing as a hero and a human being would soar to heroic preportions.

  • The anti-smoking police and hand guns

[Read the article: Supreme Court gun ruling could backfire]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I am not opposed to long guns but have never understood the acceptance of hand guns. After all, the only purpose of a hand gun is to kill another human being.

The anti-smoking crowd has powered their campaign by framing their stance as a "matter of public health". While I don't belive them (I think that they just don't like the smell) they have forced their will onto millions of citizens and managed to control the behavior of others in what is a freedom of choice issue.

A matter of pubic health? It would take years and years of exposure to second hand smoke to cause a fatal condition. It takes only an instant to end a life with a hand gun. Which is the greater "matter of public health"?

I hope that the anti-smoking police employee the same energy, pressure, single mindedness, and superiority when they take up their new public health issue, hand guns.
