Pujols
[Read the article: Talk back to Salon!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It was so nice to see Poppy and Barbara Bush's faces after Pujols hit his home run....There goes there World Series freebie......

Congressional Wiretap
[Read the article: Singing like a bird on a wire]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If Cunningham has anything on the Republican leadership do you think they'll ask for it to be suppressed because of national security reasons?
-
Brit Hume
[Read the article: Why is Brit Hume treated like a real journalist and news anchor?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Great column on Brit Hume... However, are there really any people left who consider Hume to be a journalist?
These over the top comments by guys like Hume are, I believe, simply a move by Fox to help hold their base which has been slipping away for the past two years.
-
Albertogate
[Read the article: Can anyone tell the truth?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Isn't the real issue in "Albertogate" the question of how the provision in the Patriot Act got put in and what was its purpose?
It would appear that the WH had something up its sleeve but why isn;t anyone questioning this issue?
-
The real Fox News Democrats
[Read the article: The real Fox News Democrats]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Why can't anyone find out what these Fox News
"contributors" get paid?
I have never read anything that discloses the amount these Dem talking heads like Lanny Davis and Susan Estrich get paid.
I think some investigative journalism is in order...
-
Imus
[Read the article: Imus offends]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I think Bernard McGuirk and the sportscaster should be fired.
While Imus is an old fool who doesn't think before he talks McGuirk has been doing this nonsense for years and Rosenberg had been dropped from the show and then let back on.
If there is a place for sickos like Savage there certainly is a place for mean spirited old farts like Imus

Friday Night Lights
[Read the article: I Like to Watch]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I agree the final episode of FNL was poorly done and looked like it's sole purpose was to complete a DVD.
Too bad because its a terrific show with excellent acting and good scripts. Unfortunately, it looks like NBC is more interested in putting on mind numbing fare like Deal or No Deal.
Let's hope the suits at NBC and GE actually watch FNL and give it another shot.
-
Right Wing Talk
[Read the article: Is Rush Limbaugh next?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Terrific reporting....It appears that conservative radio hosts fear their franchises beginning to fade....I don't think most of them actually believe the nonsense they spew but their base of older people and rednecks want to hear it without any opposition view.
One of the major slimeballs of the right, Dick Morris, makes a nice living sliming the Clintons. I wonder if he's making enough to pay for his toe sucking fetish?
-
Tony Soprano
[Read the article: "Sopranos" wrap-up: "Is this all there is?"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Is Tony Soprano becoming Vinnie "The Chin" Gigante with the bathrobe and his mumbling?
Why did A.J.'s girlfriend break up with him? Doesn't David Chase owe us an explanation?
The final segments are getting darker and hopefully a number of loose ends will be tied up.
Perhaps Chris can hire Ari from the Sopranos to represent him as his agent?
-
Fred Thompson
[Read the article: Fred Thompson, "tough guy" and "folksy cultural conservative"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Great column....Fred Thompson is like the back-up quarterback in a game where your team is getting beaten.
The most popular guy until he gets in the game...and the team continues to lose.....
-
Vic Mackey v. Jack Bauer
[Read the article: Finale wrap-up: "The Shield"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The writers of The Shield deserve a great deal of praise for a great finale. Unlike Jack Bauer the Vic Mackey charachter is multi-dimensional and isn't portrayed as an invincible super-hero.
I would bet that, unlike Jack Bauer, Vic Mackey actually sleeps and eats ocassionally.
-
Right Wing Apologists
[Read the article: Our broken political discourse]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You know the insiders in the MSM would defend Bush if he
declared marshal law and put the 2008 elections on hold because of security concerns.
The military industrial complex and its apologists such as Lindsay Graham and Joe Lieberman have to be voted out of office if the US is ever going to end this cycle of never ending war.
Does any thinking individual not believe that the Bush Administration treated the pre 9/11 CIA warnings with benign neglect because the neo-cons believed that such an event would result in only collateral damage.
Next time you listen to s Bush/Lieberman/McCain speech about the need to stay in Iraq simply substitute the word
"COMMUNISTS" for "AL QUEDA" and see if it brings back memories.
-
David Petraeus
[Read the article: How much credence should Gen. Petraeus' reports be given?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Great column by Glenn Greenwald.Of course, the Petraeus report is going to conclude that progress is being made in Iraq and victory is right around the corner.
I believe it is now time for the Democrats to begin educating the public on Petraus' track record.
Is there any doubt that this September 15th report is being written right now by Karl Rove's minions in the White House? This way Petraeus can claim that he can't discuss it because of executive privilege.
-
Larry King
[Read the article: King Dick]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You must be kidding if you expect Larry to ask a followup question.
If Larry asked followups Cheney and most other people wouldn't come on his show....
-
Chicago
[Read the article: What you missed while watching "Dirty Jobs"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]These debates have become a total waste of time. Personally, I'd rather see a debate between O'Reilly and Olbermann or between Chris Dodd and O'Reilly.
In fact the best debate I can think of would be between Greta Van Sustrend and Billo...
-
$$$$$$$$$$
[Read the article: The return of Larry Craig?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Who is paying for all of Craig's lawyers? Craig's Senate financials show limited assets so where is all this money coming from?
Hopefully someone will let us know.
-
Ted Olsen for AG?
[Read the article: Judge strikes down Patriot Act provision]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You've got be kidding...Ted Olsen for AG? Let's pray for his nomination as the confirmation hearings would be great theater.
-
Attorney General
[Read the article: Will Bush dare to nominate Ted Olson as attorney general?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If Ted Olsen can't be confirmed perhaps Bush can next nominate Ken Starr for Attorney General....This would allow Fox News and the right wing talking heads to refer to him as "Judge" Starr and also shoe pictures of Hillary going into court to testify.
If Starr is not available how about Bill Belichek?
-
60 Minutes
[Read the article: Columbia to be punished for hosting the new Hitler enemy]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Let's see a CBS reporter question a Bush Administration member the same way Pelley interviewed Ahmadinejad.
Oh, I forgot, that would be disrespectful in a time of war. What a joke.
-
White House Spinmeister
[Read the article: Perino watch]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I think the White House should offer the press secretary job to Dennis Miller. He'll smile and lie but at least he will keep the press corps laughing and distracted, Isn't that the goal of the administration?
-
Matt Lauer
[Read the article: Playing softball with Larry Craig]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It would appear that Matt was auditioning for Fox News where lobbing softballs to Republicans is a prerequisite....
