Your Narrow Minds make for Good Humor
[Read the article: The big veep showdown]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Ann Coulter has a good piece this week, making fun of biden's interview with katie couric.
For those of you who missed it (and I'm guessing it's the majority), here's part of the interview;
"Part of what being a leader does is to instill confidence is to demonstrate what he or she knows what they are talking about and to communicating to people ... this is how we can fix this," Biden said. "When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed. He said, 'look, here's what happened.'" - Joe Biden

salonista's poke fun (and make sexist comments) about Governor Palin, suggesting that they know better. That the other side is stupid.
What about dumb joe biden's errors?
1) Roosevelt was not president when the stock market crashed.
2) They didn't have TV back then.
I thought your candidate was the smart one.
The lack of attention to biden's bumbles is yet another example of media bias.

You Missed Biden's Best Line
[Read the article: How Sarah Palin blew it]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Too bad for you joan.
When biden described the advice he got from another senator, that he shouldn't question his opponents motive, but rather, question their judgement, biden offered advice that political prognosticators of all stripes should follow.
Too bad salon doesn't heed that advice.
Maybe then your readers could learn something, instead of going off on paranoid rants.
And another thing, as editor in chief of salon, and as a woman, I'm surprised that you allow posts of Gov. Palin labelling her as a dominatrix (with photoshop image), and describing her office is a bordello. . . . I guess integrity is not your strong suit.

joe conason - elite in his own mind
[Read the article: The dumbing down of the GOP]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]joe, I'm sure you don't realize it, but you're not as intelligent, superior, as you think.
You're condescending...and it's pitiful.

Treatment for rancey
[Read the article: The dumbing down of the GOP]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"In psychology, psychological projection (or projection bias) is a defense mechanism in which one attributes one’s own unacceptable or unwanted thoughts or/and emotions to others." - wikipedia
Example from Rance Spergel's recent post;
"What I do is ... note the incredibly foul demeanor with which you conduct yourself.
Then I reach a conclusion. And my conclusion is that you're a world-class, A#1 jerk. ... P.S. Also, please note the first two syllables of the word analysis. In referring to you, such an embedded etymological referent is entirely appropriate"
Textbook projection.
If drugs don't solve it, you could try a lobotomy.

obama reassured us, of . . . Republican Policies
[Read the article: A debate for sobering times]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It was good to hear obama reassure us of a couple of points that the left has previously used to clobber Republicans.
1. Obama essentially agreed with Ronald Reagan's assessment that the Soviet Union was an Evil Empire, when he said of Russia "I think they've engaged in an evil behavior". Remember how bonkers the left got when Reagan made that statement? About the Soviet Union, arguably more "evil" than today's Russia. Sounds like obama sees more evildoers in the world than Bush.
2. Obama clearly agrees with the principle that the United States will not be beholden to the United Nations when it comes to the use of military force, when he said "it is important that we don't provide veto power to the United Nations or anyone else in acting in our interests".... another go it alone cowboy.
I'm starting to like Obama more and more. Obama sounds more like Bush than does McCain.
That is, unless he's just lying, saying these things to get elected.
I'm curious as to what the salonista's think of obama's labelling Russia "evil", Reagans' labelling the Soviet Union as "evil", and obama's statement that the US will not be bound by the United Nations.

ObamaSame
[Read the article: This town hall didn't help John McCain]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Obama agrees with Reagan and Bush.
1. Russia is evil.
2. The United Nations will not dictate US Policy.
Another go-it-alone cowboy.

"That One" - a re-tread argument that the left doesn't live up to.
[Read the article: This town hall didn't help John McCain]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Feminists used to complain when a woman was referred to in all different manners. They reached a point where a female (not sure if it's Ok to use the word "woman") was not to be referred to as Miss, or Mrs, but rather Ms.
Now we can't use the term "that one"?
According to who? The left? Salon and the salonistas?
Salon refers to Gov. Palin as a dominatrix, and describes her office as a bordello.
Integrity is not to be found here.

No one to blame, but yourself
[Read the article: Dan Balz's corrupted journalistic "balance"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Glenn, you've gone over the top, again, and it's too bad. You put together some of the more reasoned pieces here at salon.
It's hard to take a lecture about how serious journalists should behave, re. coverage of obama, ...coming from salon, where Gov. Palin was labelled a dominatrix (with photo-shopped image), her office described as a bordello.
Hateful behavior among some people at McCain rallies? I believe it. I don't like it. . . I never heard you complain about the hate-filled letters posted here at salon. There are many.
Politics, and policy discussions have devolved into a stupid Hatfied vs. McCoys feud. That feud appears to make some people a lot of money. It fans the flames of hate among your followers, as it does some of those on the right.
Look at what is posted at salon, from the broadest of perspectives. Look at how little of it actually addresses a policy issue. How little argues for a solution to a problem.
And you wonder how we got here?
