Thanks Golden Boy
[Read the article: Bomb plot tests British again]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Thanks for the link to the article regarding Islamism, or at least a branch of it. It’s good to read something that isn’t as simplistic as “American foreign policy” or “Bush lied” when trying to understand how educated, relatively prosperous people come to the point where they decide to kill themselves and a bunch of innocent civilians in a suicide attack.
Timbuktom ought to re-read your link, and while he’s at it, the new testament. The analogy to Jesus is ridiculous. Jesus did advocate killing non-believers, nor anyone else for that matter. . . . Unlike the Koran.

Jesus DID NOT advocate killing

Blowhard BS
[Read the article: "Even Richard Nixon knew it was time to resign"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]“the man who said those 17 words – improbably enough – was the actor John Wayne”
Why would Keith think it improbable for John Wayne to hold such a belief? Does pompous Keith thinks that someone like John Wayne, a Nixon backer, is incapable of any admirable sentiment? That is a classic example of bias. A preconceived notion of what a person thinks, and of how they will act, based on the observer’s philosophy. A bias based on party affiliation, rather than race, ethnicity, or religion, but a bias none the less.
More BS; “And those who did not believe he should have been elected -- indeed those who did not believe he had been elected -- willingly lowered their voices and assented to the sacred oath of nonpartisanship.”
Could someone introduce me to this fictitious person?
"Sacred oath", ... do we have a separation of church and state problem here?
Even more BS: “And I accuse you now, Mr. Bush, of giving, through that vice president, carte blanche to Mr. Libby to help defame Ambassador Joseph Wilson by any means necessary”
Carte blanche? Any means necessary? In addition to bias, Keith gives us an example of hyperbole. Some might call it lying. . . . Good old Keith wouldn’t lie, in an a rant condemning lying, . . . would he? Joe Wilson did more to defame Joe Wilson, with his changing story, and proven false statements, than anything Scooter Libby did.
The guy you hate, got off, and you’re pissed.
Boo-hoo.

Yo, Anonymous
[Read the article: His stethoscope is loaded]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Why are you getting all over Elephantman’s back?
More importantly, where did you get your information regarding the Administration’s reckless response to repeated warnings?
Did Sandy Berger share the secret documents he stole from the National Archives with you?

Slander? . . . Yes Sydney, slander.
[Read the article: Operation Iraq betrayal]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Rather than rely on Sydney Blumenthal's version of William Kristol's article, I suggest you read it directly;
http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/013/901rhkhq.asp?pg=1
The New Republic presents an anonymous account that is slanderous of soldiers serving in Iraq.
If it's true, prove it. If you can't prove it, don't publish it.
This story reminds me of other false claims; you know, like when Dan Rather interviewed a soldier about Vietnam atrocities (later turned out to be false), or when Dan Rather presented forged documents days before an election, which were damaging to Bush.
That was slander too.

msbau764 IS COMPLETELY UNHINGED
[Read the article: Operation Iraq betrayal]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I realize logic is difficult for liberals, but, I'll try.
regimeofterror was refuting the assertion made by Sydney Blumenthal, that Iraq was a secular society.
regimeofterror listed several examples that contradict the notion that Iraq was secular.
Whether or not other nations are, or are not secular is not the point. Whether or not other nations do, or do not, follow the same practices sited by regimeofterror is also not the point.
Sydney's statement that Iraq was secular is wrong. As is much of what Sydney writes.
You might want to be more cautious with the "idiot" label.

Cheney Cares More
[Read the article: Operation Iraq betrayal]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Cheney cares more than anonymous can fathom.
I can understand arguments for or against a certain policy, but the eagerness by which many swallow the "BushCheney are evil power mad wack jobs" leads me to believe that some of you read too much Salon.
Broaden your horizons.
Dick Cheney is donating millions of dollars, assets that are already placed in an irrevocable trust, to charity.
What has anonymous done, . . . besides complain?
Read the section titled "Ties with Dick Cheney"
or, . . . continue living in wonderland.

Go Hillary, Go.
[Read the article: Stalking Hillary]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I think Slackie Onassis is right. There are Republicans who want to see Hillary as the Democratic nominee. I’m one of them.
The biggest negative against the Republicans is the Iraq war. It appears to be the reason why the Democrats gained control of congress. Harry Reid thinks so.
What criticism can Hillary offer regarding the strong economy, low un-employment, and rising stock market?
Is she going to offer to cut taxes?
Will she improve the security of Americans by refusing to listen to telephone calls of suspicious foreigners?
During a state of the union address, the Democrats cheered when Bush noted that they had done nothing to help solve the social security problem, and blocked his attempts to do so. Will Hillary position herself as someone who can solve problems, and get things done?
Hillary takes much of the Iraq debate off the table. She voted for the war, she warned of the threat that Saddam and WMD posed, and she linked Saddam with Al Qaeda. She was in agreement with Bush on many points that the left now sees as part of an evil neo-con conspiracy. The Democrats best argument is neutralized with Hillary as the candidate.
Like many politicians (of all parties), she is in it for herself. . . Glaringly so.
Go Hillary, Go.
