Diversionary Tactic
[Read the article: Arming our own enemies in Iraq]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Another sleazy shot at Gen. Patreus.
Since being put in command of US troops in Iraq, things have gotten a lot better. The surge is working despite the hopes of those who prefer to see it fail, for their political gain.
Demonstrating the existence of weapons that were sourced from places other than Iran, does not change the fact that Iran is helping militants in Iraq. This is a diversionary tactic taken by the author of this piece.
If you think Iran is incapable of such acts, read Amedinijhad's recents comments on most any topic.
The moveon.org dunces, and the Bush haters refuse to acknowledge the good that Gen. Patreus has done, and that he has done this in a very difficult situation.
Keep slamming him. I like the way it makes you look.

[Read the article: Arming our own enemies in Iraq]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Point 1: Surge success. Success of the surge could be defined multiple ways. Liberals will change the definition, as necessary, to win the argument of the day. I consider it a success based on the following facts;
Chart 1, aka, dunces vs. reality
Source: http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2008/02/26/surge-success-charts-media-wont-dare-show-you
Death rates of US soldiers are down. Sectarian violence is down. Iraqi forces continue to take more and more of a lead role.
These things take time. The trend is toward "Surge Success".
Point 2: June, 2007. pelosi and reid claim the surge has failed. Taken from their letter to the President;
"The increase in US forces has had little impact in curbing the violence or fostering political reconciliation.
It has not enhanced Americas national security. The unsettling reality is that instances of violence against Iraqis remain high and attacks on US forces have increased."

These boneheaded comments were made prematurely, and have been proven to be false.
Why did they make them?
Are they that dumb?
Or were they just trying to achieve an end result, with no consideration given the Gen. Patreus' game plan.
Despite my doubts about pelosi and reid's intellect, I argue it was the latter. Failure in Iraq would make them more powerful.
By the way, why haven't they corrected their false predictions?
You can argue that continued effort in Iraq isn't worth it. But if you want to argue that Patreus has failed, please ask obama or billary to say so, loud and clear, so that all can hear the stupidity running from their mouths, as with pelosi and reid.
One more thing; remember the US Marines that abscam Murtha called murderers? They've been acquited.
I'm glad I don't have to count on Murtha for anything.

[Read the article: Arming our own enemies in Iraq]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You might, but I don't, believe that two wrongs make a right.
Your example of false predictions (short occupation in Iraq) is accurate.
That does not undo the comments by pelosi and reid, made shortly after the surge began, which have since been proven false.
If you criticize the Bush admin for being wrong about how the Iraq war will unfold, should you not also criticize those who were wrong about the surge? If you are so concerned about name calling, what do you think about the phrase "General Betrayus"? How do you like the way that the author of this piece treated Patreus?
Your argument sinks under its own weight.
Here is another source re. Surge Success, written by an Iraqi for the NY Times: http://baghdadbureau.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/05/05/back-from-syria/index.html
NOTE: Neither Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity wrote it.

[Read the article: Arming our own enemies in Iraq]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]To quote myself: "Success of the surge could be defined multiple ways. Liberals will change the definition, as necessary, to win the argument of the day."
Thanks for proving my point.

PLEASE IMPEACH GEORGE BUSH
[Read the article: David Broder: Embodiment of Beltway values]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Please encourage your representatives to impeach George Bush, before it's too late.
Of course, that won't happen, because;
1) It would likely lessen the popularity of those who bring the charges. (your leaders have no spine). Check the approval ratings of congress, less than those of George Bush.
2) A debate of the issue, as opposed to partisan proclamations and conspiracy theories, would make the left look silly (check that,... sillier).
But anyway, I still hope he is impeached. It will be a wonderful gift for the Republicans.
