I hate to burst your bubble,. . . on second thought, no I don't.

Turns out that at least one of the evildoers hates you too cocktailhag. But don't feel bad, I don't.

    I took your advice, and used my computer literacy to copy this from wikipedia;

He has consistently dwelt on the need for jihad to right what he believes are injustices against Muslims perpetrated by the United States and sometimes by other non-Muslim states, the need to eliminate the state of Israel, and the necessity of forcing the US to withdraw from the Middle East. He has also called on Americans to "reject the immoral acts of fornication (and) homosexuality, intoxicants, gambling, and usury," in a October 2002 letter.

Probably the most controversial part of Bin Laden's ideology is that civilians, including women and children, can be killed in jihad. Bin Laden is very anti-Jewish, and has delivered warnings against alleged Jewish conspiracies: "These Jews are masters of usury and leaders in treachery. They will leave you nothing, either in this world or the next." Shia have been listed along with "Heretics, ... America and Israel," as the four principle "enemies of Islam" at ideology classes of Bin Laden's Al-Qaeda organization.

As a Wahhabi, bin Laden opposes music on religious grounds, and his attitude towards technology is mixed. He is interested in "earth-moving machinery and genetic engineering of plants", on the one hand, but rejects "chilled water" on the other.

You gotta fit a couple of those categories.

Vodka on the rocks? That's two categories.

  • democrats vote based on race?

[Read the article: No, Hillary Clinton shouldn't be winning]

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” - Martin Luther King, Jr.

“The argument that Wilentz should have made is that this spring's primary results show that white reluctance to vote for an African-American candidate could be a real and important factor this November...”Brad DeLong

According to Brad, democrats, voting in their primaries, fail to live up to Dr. King’s dreams.

But that doesn’t stop the democrats from promoting themselves as the morally superior party when it comes to race relations.

The democrats use minorities, time and time again, to secure power for themselves.

    Hi RMP,

I have to agree with you, for once.

Those analogies will work,...if your friends are dumb.

  • Gary Pretends he’s Moses

[Read the article: Iraq: The ten commandments]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Commandment 1) First gary claims that it is immoral to attack a state that has not attacked you, followed by a rejection of any deity.

Why do you discount the repeated attacks on our aircraft patrolling the no-fly zone?

On what do you base your “immoral” claim?

    I’m flushing this commandment.

Comm. 2) I’ll agree with this one, if you add, “Do not underestimate the threat” as well. Otherwise, flush number two.

Comm. 3) Establishing a democracy is a great way to achieve your aim, as opposed to allowing a tiny minority to seize control of a nation and cause havoc, like Saddam did.

Comm. 5) I think you should change this commandment from “Reject the idea of a clash of civilizations." to “Hope for the best”.

Comm. 6) Sounds like a rejection of First Amendment, particularly as it relates to Bill Kristol. Better not let glenn greenwald get wind of this one, he’s likely to accuse you of dismantling the constitution.

Comm. 9) If you expect the media to have brains, you’re in trouble.

Comm. 10) If you expect other nations to co-operate with our attempts to rein in despots, you’re in bigger trouble than you are with #9. Review the abuse of the oil-for-food program for examples of this lack of co-operation.

    The rest) Not worth comment.

    No. Not right.

The news media is more about entertaining than informing. Rush self describes himself in that category. Fox fits as well.

There are plenty of examples of "lack of brains" in the media. My favorite is Dan Rather being duped by a laser printed copy of a purported service record from the 1960's.

Then there's Dan Rather's interview of a purported Vietnam Veteran, as the vet describes the atrocities he witnessed (he never saw combat, worked as a cook on a Navy ship I believe).

Then there's the New Republic, and the Baghdad Diarist.

I could go on. These are examples of myth making. glenn greenwald just wrote a book about myth making as a political strategy. He pretends it's unique to right wingers.

[Read the article: Is it "contradictory" to decry the right's tactics while insisting on their equal application?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    A) I don’t know if you are; 1. Condemning the use of personal attacks by the Right, 2. Promoting the use of personal attacks by the Left, or 3. Both.

If you’re doing both, you are most certainly a hypocrite.

    B) “But liberal squeamishness over engaging personality-based battles has allowed the Right to flourish”

glenn, if you truly believe that, you’re blind. Absolutely blind. You have every right to attack Republicans, Neo-cons, conservatives, Richard Nixon, however you see fit. But, the notion that attacks on a candidate's personality and/or image are unique to the Right, is absurd.

Google george bush personality for unrefutable proof.

Maybe we should adopt Obama's plan, and invade Pakistan.

Hey, at least it's not Iraq.

"It's very possible people ought to go to jail," said Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), chairman of the Environment and Public Works Committee, which oversees highway funding.

This is not a defense of young, I'd be glad to see him go.

I'd like to see earmarks go as well. Like the ones murtha exploits.

What else did Barbara Boxer, overseer of highway funding, miss in the last budget?
