I Wish there was a Salonista Like Buckley
[Read the article: The "father of modern conservatism," dead at 82]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I wish salon provided arguments for or against policy, in a well thought out and reasoned manner, as William F. Buckley did.
I'm glad that a number of salonistas respected that in Buckley.
Salon could learn a lot from Buckley. Not in terms of the positions it takes, but in the manner in which they present them.
By the way, with regard to the gossipy story about the argument on the boat, and the wench tapping her head; even if Buckley was suffering from dementia in his later years, he still had a formidable mind. You would have to be arrogant or ignorant to assume otherwise. Read his recent columns if you doubt this.

Billion Bees is Right
[Read the article: Ask the pilot]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You want to reduce green house gas emissions?
Don't get on the plane.
Turn off your laptop.
Shut down the server hosting salon.com
But, but, but. . . Let me guess, there's a compelling reason why your behavior should be granted an exclusion.

PNTR, NAFTA, example of democrats = republicans
[Read the article: Ralph Nader loves John McCain]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]PNTR and NAFTA, both have resulted in fewer mfg jobs in the US. This has hit union workers particularly hard.
billary supported both.
Nader strongly opposed both. His warnings regarding those trade agreements were accurate.
Obama and billary offer nothing to those stung by cheap overseas labor.
This is a big issue. joe conason didn't even mention it. Union workers were bamboozled by the clintons.

Arrogance Defined
[Read the article: Who would the GOP rather face?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]billary offers obama the VP spot, despite the fact that obama is beating her. Despite the fact that billary's negatives are so high.
Yet another example of the power mad arrogance of billary.
You guys thought Bush Cheney were rabid?
You want some more?
Then vote billary.

Clinton Has More Experience
[Read the article: Who would the GOP rather face?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]For instance, hillary knows how to;
1. Sell pardons.
2. Promise one thing, do another.
3. Accept illegal campaign contributions.
4. Interpret all rules such that they favor her.
5. Lie.
6. Get FBI files on political opponents . . . when's Glenn Greenwald going to talk about this? If FISA warrants a weekly column, how about writing about someone who actually abused intelligence gained illegally?
Yep. billary's got the experience.
-
Hey NYShooter
[Read the article: Who would the GOP rather face?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I didn't post chants, I posted facts, indicating the experience you get if you elect a clinton. They sold pardons. They got a lot of illegal campaign contributions (google "hsu clinton").
You having a bad day? . . . did you vote for spitzer?
-
NYShooter....Lemme try another tact
[Read the article: Who would the GOP rather face?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Well, at least were getting closer to policy. However, please drop the straw-man arguments.
In terms of working for minority causes, how do you defend billary's welfare reform? NAFTA? PNTR-China?
Those actions hurt minorities, union workers, and people of lesser income particularly hard.
billary read a poll that said "do it", so they did.
Then they sold pardons.

Who cares? . . . spit-lizard
[Read the article: Who cares if Eliot Spitzer hires prostitutes?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Spitzer cared about personal stuff like that, when it was to his advantage.
When spit-lizard was investigating Dick Grasso, he had Grasso questioned under oath about extramarital affairs, and a love child.
If spit-lizard can't take it...too bad.

spit-lizard's competence
[Read the article: Who cares if Eliot Spitzer hires prostitutes?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Ok. For the sake of argument, let's assume that there is nothing wrong with prostitution, cheating on your wife, and breaking numerous laws.
Now, given the amount of money that spit-lizard paid for sex (thousands) can anyone argue that the man has good judgement?
That the people of New York State have a leader whose decision making ability they can rely on?
That spit-lizard will look out for the down-trodden?

Taliesan Sings "LALALALA",...offkey
[Read the article: Who would the GOP rather face?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]According to Taliesan, the only way to balance a budget is to raise taxes.
Wrong. Demonstrably so.
There are two additional methods for balancing a budget;
1) Cut spending.
2) Increase revenues.
It is not a matter of plugging one's ears to be aware of this.
When Reagan cut taxes, the federal government saw a significant increase in revenue...which they spent like drunken sailors.
It's not a one-way street.
Maybe we should tax hos. I'd set the rate at 50%, spit-lizard's got the money.

@Bryan Hayward
[Read the article: Who cares if Eliot Spitzer hires prostitutes?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Because two wrongs don't make a right.
Neither do three, four, or a bazillion.
They should all resign.
So should william "cash-in-the-freezer" jefferson, democratic congressman from Louisiana. They guy with $50k in his freezer. Still serving in congress.

Spit-lizard - Model of Sleaze
[Read the article: The tragic fall of Eliot Spitzer]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Walt describes spitzer as a "model of rectitude".
Why?...Why on earth?
When Ken Starr investigated clinton, liberals went ballistic over his forays into what they described as bill's personal sex life.
Ok, let's accept Starr's behavior as that which should be condemned.
Problem is, spit-lizard did the same thing to Dick Grasso.
If you were outraged by Ken Starr's investigation, I would assume you feel the same about spit-lizard.
I think this is why Wall Street cheered when they heard the news. He was not a model rectitude.

Bye-bye spitty.

L.W.M. - Here's a Link for You
[Read the article: The tragic fall of Eliot Spitzer]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Although this link is not directly related to Zzigurrat's assertions, it does demonstrate the ruthlessnes that Zzigurrat pointed out.
I remember when Ken Starr investigate bill clintons "private sex life". Starr was widely criticized by the left. I don't recall any liberal suggesting that Starr's behavior is something you want from a lawyer.
Spit-lizard did the same thing to Dick Grasso.
Good riddance spitty.

L.W.M. . . . If YOU Read the Post
[Read the article: The tragic fall of Eliot Spitzer]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You will learn that it is an excerpt from a book authored by Charles Gasparino, a CNBC Correspondent.
spit-lizard aggressively pursued Dick Grasso. Included in that pursuit were investigations into his private sex life. Just like Ken Starr.
It doesn't get any simpler than that.
You should take your own advice, and be more careful with your research.
