  • Not poofing, womanly

[Read the article: Peggy Noonan is a serious "grown-up"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I don't want to use the word "poof", because it's a distraction.

I watched the video. John brushes his hair over and over and over, just like a woman.

If you haven't actually seen the video, go see it, judge for yourself.

  • I've got a question.

[Read the article: Which Democrat is a winner?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Hillary voted for the Iraq war, claimed that saddam had WMD, and stated that there was a link betweem Iraq and Al Qaeda.

During her husband's presidency, the clinton white house gathered secret FBI files on a large number of political opponents, illegally.

My question is; should we count these "Bush like" actions as an asset, or a liability?

    Walter left them out.

  • Pain = Torture?

[Read the article: Who would Antonin Scalia torture?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Salon writers will make just about any connection, analogy, they can in order to sling arrows at the Bush administration.

In this case, they relate the pain suffered by a person being executed with torture, as part of a case to be decided by the Supreme Court, Scalia in particular.

    How about this;

Does the pain a fetus suffers as part of a partial-birth abortion constitute torture?

  • @Dr_Dredd

[Read the article: Who would Antonin Scalia torture?]

I don't want it both ways.

I am against capital punishment. Save your straw man arguments for someone else.

By way of a question, I was pointing out what I believe to be a lack of consistency among the salonista set.

It's good that partial-birth abortion has been banned.

The author of this article writes about the pain suffered by convicted killers. He relates it to torture. You will not find an article on Salon that ever took that approach to a fetus undergoing a partial-birth abortion.

That is an example of having it both ways.

  • Hope After All

[Read the article: Barack delivers, Hillary disappoints]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

After reading joe's latest, and all the letters, it is clear that there is hope after all.

The salonista letter writers correctly identified joe's obvious bias, and lack of objectivity re. the results from Iowa.

Here's something you should remember; Joe smears people all the time, not just opponents of hillary.

I wonder how much sidney blumenthal is to blame for hillary's poor showing?

I hope sid doesn't end up back here. He's worse than joe.

  • Hillary the fear-mongerer

[Read the article: A "free ride" for Obama and Edwards?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

salon recently posted an article which criticized Republicans for using fear of terrorism in their campaigns.

Hillary is using the threat of terrorism as an argument against Obama.

When is salon going to criticize hillary for this?

  • I Clearly Don't Get It

[Read the article: The comeback chick]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    After a primary election, in which the following occurred;

    1) A record number of voters registered at the polls. (I'm sure they were all legitimate, hillary wouldn't cheat edwards).

    2) Due to a ballot shortage, absentee ballots were used in place of standard ballots.

    3) Due to a ballot shortage, photocopies of ballots were used in place of standard ballots.

Despite the fact that the democratic primary election was run by democrats, I expected to read all kinds of conspiracy theories regarding the ballot irregularities.

I expected the salonistas to blame it all on Cheney.

    I don't get it.

  • Hillbillyism

[Read the article: How bashing Hillary backfired]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Joe writes an article complaining about the unfair press coverage that hillary has gotten. Joe theorizes that voters are “sick of the corrosive hostility” of the mainstream media. He states that “journalists no longer feel constrained to conceal their emotions in the name of objectivity”. He mentions that some journalists are viewed as sadists. Joe expects that the press corp will be “unable to exercise professional restraint and fairness”.

I think he’s right on most if not all points.

The problem is, as is typical of a liberal, joe’s concerns are only voiced in response to attacks directed toward the side he is on. Read joe’s articles for examples of the behavior he objects to, in which joe is corrosively hostile, and lacking in both restraint and fairness as he critiques the Bush administration.

This article, when compared to joe's articles on the Bush administriation, is an excellent example of the lack of integrity exhibited by Joe Conason is it relates to journalism, fairness, and objectivity.

Joe Conason is just another hillbilly, in a Hatfields vs. McCoys battle.

  • Yes, of course democrats are prejudicial

[Read the article: The battle for Nevada]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Joan asks "Will the ethnic tensions inflamed by a rough caucus fight haunt the Democrats?"

The answer is yes, of course.

Democrats consistently look first at a persons skin color, gender, and then make judgement about them.

The prism by which democrats tend to view people is evident in the articles written be democrats, as is this one.

  • hillary = same old same old

[Read the article: The knives come out in South Carolina]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    hillary = walmart

hillary = "saddam has WMD and links to al qaeda"

    hillary = insurance companies

bill = foreign government investment firms, behind the scenes money makers, moving manfacturing jobs to china

Why in the world does salon back hillary?

  • clinton is as dishonest as they come

[Read the article: Obama and Clinton on Reagan and Republicans]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Rose law firm billing records - took 4 yrs to produce

    FBI files on political opponents

    $100k overnight commodity market profit

    Travelgate

    Insurance lobbyists

"I was named after Edmund Hillary"

This disgusting list could go on, and on.

I hope the democrats nominate hillary.

  • Dishonest Ad - written by sidney blumenthal?

[Read the article: Obama and Clinton on Reagan and Republicans]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The distorted, dishonest ad run by the clintons reminds me of the typical sidney blumenthal article.

    1) Any chance sid wrote the ad?

    2) Is joan walsh angling for a similar gig?

Today "bill the court certified liar" clinton is wagging his finger at us, once again, saying "shame on you".

Obama offers hope. clinton offers more of the same old, same old.

  • A liar, and a racist

[Read the article: An old-fashioned thumpin' in South Carolina]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    b. clinton states that Obama's big win is just like Jesse Jaclson's. Clearing inferring that Obama won because he is black, like Jackson. That race dictated the outcome.

I don't know to what extent race motivated individual voters.

I do believe, however, that despite clinton's ability to deliver a line, suggesting that he really cares about you, people (democrats this time) are beggining to see that he is not only a liar, he is also a racist.

  • Thanks for another example of ludicrousness

[Read the article: Did Hillary Clinton really win in Florida?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    Dear Walt,

Thanks for pointing out the ludicrous method by which the democrats will nominate a presidential candidate, and thanks for relating it to the 2000 presidential election.

Democrats like to hold elections, and then modify the rules after everyone has voted. Our true saviors of democracy.
