Michael Jackson had sleepovers where children would spend the night in his bedroom.
Michael Jackson also admitted to sharing his bed with young boys. Mr. Jackson paid off one boy's family between 20-25 million dollars not to go to trial. Additionally, there are reports of him paying at least two others an appx. combined 5 million to keep quiet.
These are not the actions of an innocent man. He may not have been proven guilty in a court of law, but let's be honest, if you had children I doubt you would have let them spend the night with Michael Jackson--your parental instincts would have kicked in and told you it wasn't right. To claim otherwise is foolish.
The overreaction to Michael Jackson's death, I think, says more about us as a nation than it does about Mr. Jackson's career.
The wild overreaction in America to the death of Princess Diana served as a warning sign, but now I'm sure: We are a nation that is need of therapy--a lot of therapy.
No, the self-proclaimed King of Pop was probably a pedophile. Don't we need to ask ourselves if we're celebrating the life of a child molester?
The Changeling with George C. Scott--scared the heck out of me.
I'd also add the original The Omen with Gregory Peck...that got to me as well.
I don't like Ms. Palin as a candidate--or, God help us--as a potential V.P., but she seems like a good parent. I really like the way her kids seem to take care of each other. To me, that says a lot.
I think it's important for the kids to be with her. I do worry that it is a strain on them. But my big concern is that she's dragging them to all of the events. Her kids always have to be "on" and that, to me, seems a little unfair to them. Traveling with her kids can be tiring, but it can work. But having them at all these political rallies, etc. that just seems too much for any kid.
Just my thoughts.
John McCain was a POW?
I knew that McCain was a good debater, but I was shocked that he couldn't look Obama in the eye. His inability to do so really bugged me. McCain didn't appear presidential, he looked and sounded like a Senator recalling the good old days.
He was uncomfortable being challenged, and his facial expressions were cartoonish. This guy has too much of an edge to be in any position where he could get us into another needless war.
Obama surprised me. He is grace under fire. He took McCain's shots and fired them back at him. I feel more comfortable about Obama's foreign policy views/judgement than I did before.
The fact, too, that he could stare down McCain and keep his composure was impressive. I can see him as President of the United States. President Obama--I like the sound of that.
Are they lies or delusions?
I'm no longer sure that she knows that she's lying.
I don't care so much about stumbles and gaffes during the campaign. The candidates are human and the press and the rigors of the campaign can be demanding. Sometimes dumb statements are par for the course.
Ms. Palin, though, is incoherent. Not only does she not know what she doesn't know, she thinks she knows what she doesn't know.
If McCain/Palin are elected, and anyting happens to John McCain, we'll hear the collective "uh-oh" from across the heartland and the world--and yes, from perhaps God himself.
For the good of the country, vote No on McCain/Palin.
He needs the limelight. Playing second fiddle to Ms. Palin must be tearing him up inside. He didn't want her and now he sees how truly vapid she is. It's killing him.
His move may have been less about avoiding a debate with Obama and more about trying to show everyone that he, John McCain, is still relevant. Still, Palin continues to overshadow him.
You know he's thinking: I sold my soul for this?
I'm not a very religious man, but still I cry: God Help Us!
McCain says Country First, but he chose Ms. Palin to be his running mate. Why does John McCain hate America?
Didn't McCain suspend his campaign?
If John McCain is putting country first, why would he even have considered bringing a campaign advisor along?
Wait for it...
Because he's playing politics!
Really, McCain needs to go to the RNC and demand that they return his manhood.
I can't believe that a so-called maverick senator/war hero would resort to using Jimmy Carter's Rose Garden strategy.
John McCain is waiting for his White Horse moment.
Option #1: The deal gets approved at the last minute. He flies in for the debate and does, the analysts say, a great job considering he was in DC trying to carve out a plan to help America while Obama was prepping for the debate.
Option #2: The deal is not yet done. He flies in for the debate, does well--again, considering he's been working to save America--and then flies back to DC right away to cast the decideding vote.
I still think McCain is being prepped for the debate. They might be looking for a publicity stunt that the media would eat up--this might be it.
