[Read more letters about this article: Here]Why did you assume I didn't read Larry's blog? I did. I guess I didn't make it clear enough. I even read some of the comments to the post (I really appreciated the lying, drug dealing black homo slur against Obama.)
I especially loved the beginning, though:
"I learned over the weekend why the Republicans who have seen the tape of Michelle Obama ranting about “whitey” describe it as “STUNNING.” I have not seen it but I have heard from five separate sources who have spoken directly with people who have seen the tape. It features Michelle Obama and Louis Farrakhan. They are sitting on a panel at Jeremiah Wright’s Church when Michelle makes her intemperate remarks. Whoops!!"
I think its fine if you beleive Larry. I'm just skeptical. I think it's as likely that Republicans are using Larry to start a whisper campaign. The tape could exist. It could be a ploy by the Republicans. I wouldn't put it past them; they are dirty, dirty bastards just like the Democrats. However, I think we should take anything those people say (selling us a war, remember) with a large grain of salt. UNTIL there is proof. And, I think it's the duty of any democrat who wants a democrat in the White House, to do everything possible to get their hands on a copy of the tape and to release it now so that Obama can do damage control. It can't be too hard to find, I don't think.
I don't think sitting on a panel with Louis Farakhan constitutes anything, especially in a city like Chicago. Of course, it might not play that way in other parts of the country. Louis Farakhan has been working a lot in the area of black health, which is why I think he and she would be on a panel together. But since we live in a country that now thinks even sitting in the same room with someone you might disgree with constitutes a breach of orthodoxy so heinous that the offender must be strung up in the public square, I'm sure the Republicans will be able to spin it as Michelle is muslim white hating racist black bitch.
Also, I apologize that I assumed you were a democrat. LT, a word of advice though: never say on Salon that you advocate legalizing prostitution. Glen Greenwald almost got tarred and feathered and run outta the Web community on a rail for saying that. Though being that you are in the millitary, I bet you can handle yourself. (Or is it ex-Navy?)

Seriously, If it were me, I would move to Belize and buy a little resort and try to build up the eco-tourism economy.
I have a good friend from college who lives down there, and I think 3 million dollars would do a lot of good down there, whereas in America 3 million dollars ain't shit. Especially on the West Coast.
I would open a little bank so the people in the town could be mini-entrepenaurs. (sp.) And then I would write trashy romance novels or supernatural erotica in my spare time. And I'd marry a hot caramel colored Belizian. Mmm...caramel.
Oh wait, you are already married. But I do think leaving the Country isn't too bad of an idea. Like I said, you could do a lot with 3 million dollars in other parts of the world. Just keep a nest egg in the United States (the 401K plan is a good one) and enjoy yourself while helping others.

I mean, it's not like Iranian nuclear weapons are going to make it all the way here (other than on 24) so maybe Israel should preemptively attack Iran rather than expecting the U.S. to do everything. We'll just promise, if shit hits the fan, that we've got their back since they are our allies.
Our millitary is already spread pretty thin; anyone ever hear of Afghanistan? I think it's time for Israel, if they are all so gung ho that we attack Iran, to lead the charge. We'll be the Britain to their United States, while we try to clean up our messes in Iraq and Afghanistan. Maybe once we through there, we can focus on Iran, but heck, we can barely fight a war on 2 fronts; what the fuck is going to happen if we have to fight it on 3 fronts? And we are the only ones risking our lives? Are there Israeli soldiers even in Iraq?

It disturbs me in the same way that child abuse does, but it's almost more sinister because it is not about a punishment gone wrong, or one that's gotten out of had, but is instead about some father and his male relatives cold-bloodedly murdering their daughter, their sister, their cousin. I don't understand it.
And what really gets me is the complete and utter double standard; Boys, obviously, lack the ability to dishonor their family. Only girls bring shame dirty enough that it can only be washed away with their sacrifical blood.

Bad Girls is Awesome

[Read more letters about this article: Here]I watch it too, guiltily, perhaps, but those girls are such skanky, backstabbing, pampered, biyotches who engage in insane catfights (and real fights, where the only large black girl in the house, who wasn't even fighting, gets thrown in jail because she is the large black girl and leaving those supposed "bad girls" shaking in their boots about what she would say when she returned) and I can't stop watching it. Now, I can't stand the Bachelor (since its all about getting a man) or any of the dating show, but Bad Girls is like the Real World...on crystal meth with a crack chaser.
Love it. And I like Bridezilla's too, though sometimes those Brides are justified in their craziness.
