  • Sajwan -overgeneralize much?

[Read the article: Hey, Obama boys: Back off already!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

"Just like the GOP believes there is not a racist issue in the country that is not just made up by liberals during their wine-tasting parties, Obama supporters believe the same about sexism."

Um, the whole point of this article is that Obama supporters do beleive in sexism and feel that the "boys" of the campaign use sexist language to describe the opponenent.

Yes, sexism is bad. I don't think any Obama supporter, even the sexist Hillary haters, are for sex slavery, rape as a form of torture, bride burning, or female circumcision. In fact, even though I'm not a member of the Grand Old Party, I doubt their members are for any of those things either.

  • Why she's bothered

[Read the article: In court, J.K. Rowling nearly cries over Harry Potter Lexicon]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Here's why I think Rowling is bothered by the other lexicon

1)She and her publishers are planning on coming out with their own lexicon so they can squeeze the last drops of money out of their property. They don't want competition.

    2) Like a lot of creative types, she feels like she should be the definitive voice when it comes to interpreting her own work.

I personally don't think these books are going to last very long, anyway, so I can see why she wants to have her own lexicon out there. I hate to say it, but in my opionion, reading Harry Potter is like having a nice long wank before bed; kind of fun and naughty and exciting while your doing it, but ultimately it just puts you to sleep when your done.

Jeez, do you know how offensive you sound? Halfrican indeed. Besides, I've known a few light-skinned, light eyed blacks in my life who have two (or sometimes just one) light skinned, light eyed parents and come from a whole family of light skinned, light eyed blacks, but I wouldn't expect someone like you to know anything about people like that being that you are an ass.

But heck, she could be more directly mixed, but all black americans are mixed you half wit.

  • @HHGLAS

Can you introduce me to the all of the white folks in the South who cater to me? I'd sure like to meet one, maybe shake his hand, thank him for making my life so goddamned wonderful and easy? I'm sorry the mean old black racists have made your life so hard. I'll tell them to stop at the next secret meeting. I might be able to get a special dispensation so you can say the N-word whenever you want...will that be enough?

  • Rootball

    [Read the article: Polygamists' progeny]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Is your massive moral problem with polygamy just about how it's practiced by the FLDS, or are you a one man + one woman kinda gal or guy? Or better yet, one person + one person=marriage. Just wondering.

I don't think Broad sheet is going to do an investigative piece on this story since it's a blog. Also, I think the privacy of the women and children taken should be respected, at least until the trials start.

Why are you engaging with Rufus? It's like bear baiting, or bum-fights or dwarf tossing. It ain't right.

I always thought you were better than that. I mean, c'mon, you come from a working class background AND you know how to shoot a gun AND you are white so we all know your vote, thoughts, and opinions matter the most. Why rub your superiority in poor Rufus' face! But what do I matter. I'm black so my vote doesn't really count anyway....

  • I think the mugger said,

[Read the article: Feminism vs. "Sex and the City"?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Give me your purse, and then he looks down at her feet and says, and your manohlas.

    It was actually pretty funny.

As for all of you Sex and the City haters; the show was a complete fantasy, like most sitcoms. There's no way Carrie could afford her apartment and blahnik sandles on her salary. Samantha would have had every STD known to man and probably a few known to sea creatures, like sharks; someone would have shot Miranda and Charlotte...well I always thought she was perfect with those headbands and Burberry jackets. She reminds me of the WASPY girls from college who were like rare exotic birds, at least to me. Mmm...Charlotte. If she were my friend I would totally have a non-sexual crush on her. Oh, who am I kidding, it would be sexual.

Anyway, If you don't like Sex and the City don't like it. But in no way, shape, or form should it be considered in any way realistic except for the way it portrays how single people rely on their friends. Now, that's true. As for feminism, c'mon. You can't expect too much from a fantasy show like this.

  • Statistics and Sperm

[Read the article: The evil future is now: Semen detection kits]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I don't know, I think that 33% statistic is actually a good thing. Aren't the people who get paternity tests the ones who are suspicious in the first place? It's not like they did a blind sample of men and their progeny and came up with 33%, or at least thats how I read the statistic. And so, only 1/3 of the men (and women) who questioned the paternity of the child were actually duped! So score! 67 % of the men are either just jealous bastards, or their wife is a lucky whore!

    As for the sperm-detector...gross.
