Julia, The Waffle House Cook
[Read the article: In memory of Gordon Ramsay]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I was just rewatching a few episodes of Hells Kitchen on Fox Reality, and the only redeeming thing about that show last season was Julia the Waffle House cook. She could actually cook, she just didn't have any frou-frou training. When she was eliminated (I think she got down to being one of the final three) Ramsey promised to send her to Culinary school. He was so effing nice.
I love the BBC Kitchen Nightmares. I don't remember him swearing as much on that show, and the best part is the voiceover. I don't cook, and I have no interest in opening a restaurant, but you can learn alot about business listening to him. I'll probably watch Hells Kitchen tonight, though. Maybe there will be another Julia.

@AKA Smith
[Read the article: FactCheck.org: Obama statement "a little too slick"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]One could make the argument he's lying to PA voters, one could make the argument he isn't. Both can be backed up. Sure, there is an aspect of "truthiness" in his ad, but Obama supporters can accept that, Clinton supporters cannot. Technically, he doesn't accept donations from Oil Companies or from PACS, but since the former is a matter of law and according to some posters, the latter doesn't merit that much money, it all depends on your pereception of the canidate. It all comes down to whether you see Obama as a 1) disingenous at his core, which you do, AKA Smith 2) don't see him as disingenous. It comes down to whether you think he'd make a good president, or not. Since you don't like him, don't think he'd make a good president, and generally have been pretty deragatory towards him, why should anyone even bother discussing these matters with you? You've made up your mind. Just like Hutman and Uncle Fester. I'm not trying to be bitchy, and I'm sorry if I'm coming off like that, but really...what the heck are we doing?
The fact that our party has gotten so partisan is distressing, especially since the policy difference between Obama and Clinton are so miniscule that if you just look at them on paper, there is hardly any difference. But whatever. We talk crap about the Republicans falling for the cult of personality, but we are doing the same thing with this Clinton vs. Obama b.s. To be honest, this partisan crap (both sides so don't get your knickers in a twist) is what is going to pave the way for President McCain.

@Notorious
[Read the article: The Obama difference]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If Obama did have an affair, Michelle Obama, unlike some people, doesn't strike me as the stand by your man type of gal. She would go medieval on his ass. I think that might put the fear of god in Obama.
(I know, it may sound like a dig about Clinton, but actually, she's the only one of the stand by your man-women whom I respect. It would have been political suicide for her show any disloyalty to her husband. Even if the people would have applauded it, the party would have never forgiven her, and she'd never have gotten the support she needed for a New York Senate run. And maybe she still loves the old horn dog.)

Well said, Shonkin, but..
[Read the article: Rape is like force-fed chocolate cake?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]don't bother. Brightstar is Brighstar is Brighstar. This post could be about a 4 year old girl gang raped by her male relatives, and he would somehow turn it around to be about how 1) all women are evil 2) feminists are super evil 3) as a man he's the real the victim, not some preschooler.
Or maybe he just wants someone to acknowledge his pain, like we acknowledge the pain of rape victims. So, here goes brightstar; on behalf of my sex (who I can't really speak for since I missed last year's secret gyna-election!) I apologize for every evil American woman who has hurt you. As one of my lesbian friends and I used to say during my brief, but infuriating, sojourn into the love that dare not speak it's name, bitches ain't no good.
That is all.

Re-votes
[Read the article: Hillary Clinton's petition ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember hearing a story on NPR a few months ago, and the reporter said that in one of the states, it might actually be illegal to allow a revote.
What would you do about democrats who voted republican in the primary? In an open primary, you either vote republican or democrat. But if you allow democrats to vote again, probably some of those democrats who crossed the aisle to vote republican (because they knew their votes wouldn't count if they voted for their own party) would want to have another chance to vote, and that is against the rules as well. And if you choose to "disenfranchise" those voters, how much money and time would it take to track down those voters and make sure they don't vote in the democratic party.
I'm pretty sure it is Florida. I don't know if Michigan has an open primary. To be honest, I feel sorry for Michigan. Unlike Florida, I think their party leadership chose the earlier date to bring attention to all of their economic woes.
