Not falling for it again
[Read the article: Real inconvenient truths]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Last month I read letters saying that we should all stop feeding the troll and ignore Camille's musings. This month, I am sticking to it. My biggest grip against C.P. is that in 2000 she poisoned the well and made a very comfortable living bashing Democrats. She backed Ralph Nader. Bush became President and she conveniently disappeared for 6 years only to reappear during the lame duck phase of the Bush Presidency after the damage was done. Personally, I think she can crawl back under whatever rock she was hiding under for 6 years. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

You've got to be kidding
[Read the article: The "Sgt. Pepper" discussion continues]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Sgt Peppers was like that moment in the Wizard of Oz when the world changed from black and white to color.
"overrated", I won't even waste my time arguing. Sgt. Peppers is not meant to be listened to an i-Pod (and I love my I-Pod). It must be played from start to finish on a fine stereo system.
It is still my favorite Beatles album and probably my favorite album of all time.
PERIOD.

wrong again
[Read the article: Art movies: R.I.P.]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Rock is Dead according to C.P.. It peaked in the 60s and 70s. More Baby-Boomer horseshit, if you ask me. My CD shelves are threatening to collapse under the weight of music from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and today. All in all, the music scene today is as good as I have ever heard it. Contemporary artists like the National, Beck, Jesse Sykes, Neko Case and others play more great music than I can afford to keep up with. The only thing that is irrelevant is the ancient musings of fossils like C.P.
As usual Camille manages to kiss Matt Drudge's ass once again in her column.
What an idiot.

Tabloids = Poison
[Read the article: Are we sexist in our schadenfreude?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Catherine,
Every day I am assaulted when I wait in line at the grocery store by the sickening evil that is the tabloid press. Tabloids are aimed at a particular audience...married, overweight women with children. The tabloid woman takes particular glee in watching a formerly young slender woman going down in flames or worse...putting on weight (THE HORROR!!!). Should a starlet avoid this fate, the vultures circle waiting for a divorce, arrest, drug addiction, financial catastrophe or cancer...punishment for not settling down and spawning.
Were I god and I had unlimited powers, the one thing I would change in this world would be to elminate tabloids. Their only purpose is to perpetuate a vicous cycle of shame, low self-esteem and envy. No good will ever come of them. They should be shunned, banished and are a source of embarrassment to any sane society. I loathe tabloids with a passion you can not fathom. Tabloids are a sick and twisted freak show that feed off the misery of both the celebrity as well as the sad and pitiful soul who reads them. They are a dysfunctional and co-dependent orgy of torment and unhappiness. I feel dirty even writing about them. I think I am going to be sick.
Steve
