I don't think that it was him making the remarks that is the problem.

The problem is that HRC tried to say both that "She believed him that he meant Obama's communit work" AND that his comments were "Out of line".

It's out of line to mention his community work?

Or is it that HRC once again is appearing to be disengenuous?

  • Wait, wait wait...

So here is how it went down.

A few months ago, the DNC decided that they would have these "mobile precincts" set up so that the people working on the strip (lots of future potential Democratic voters) would have an opportunity to vote.

This was fine, until the Culinary Workers Union Local 226 Endorced Obama. 2 days or so later, all the sudden, some Hillary Clinton supporters decide that it's an "unfair advantage" for these precincts to be allowed.

Bill Clinton loses his temper and says something to the effect that they should not be allowed, which makes people believe that the Clinton Campaign is against the mobile precincts, which basically amounts to disenfranchisement.

Then, the labor group responds, feeling that Clinton is against the voting in those local precincts.

Somehow that's Obama's fault? They wanted to strike back, and the best way to do it is to do their best to make sure that Hillary loses. I don't understand how that's Obama's fault at all. He has no control over the union, and in fact, legally CANNOT ask them to stop their ads, which is the same problem Huckabee is having with a group doing push polling.

What alot of these responses have shown me is that if you are predisposed against Obama, it will likely be easy to try to put everything at his feet. Myself, I am an Obama supporter, but while I think that President Clinton's outburst was in poor taste, I am not certain that the HRC Campaign orcestrated the lawsuit.

Therefore, it seems to be a Union vs Clinton issue, not a Clinton vs Obama and his Union issue.

  • huh?

As Latina woman I can tell you the media doesn't understand the relationship between African Americans and Latinos. This outcome was perfectly predictable and will also be the result in California and New York.

As an African-American male, I can tell you that I don't know what you are talking about.

There may be some animosity, but it is pretty one sided from what I can tell. I don't know a single black person that would not vote for Bill Richardson because of his race, and certainly none that would vote AGAINST him as you are insinuating.

If this is true, then I pity you and any of either of our people who would vote against someone because of their race...

  • Obama.. FINALLY.

I am an Obama supporter, but I have been concerned for a while that Obama was going to allow himself to be swiftboated, because he is too thoughtful to get into a good fight.

Last night, Obama put that fear to rest. He showed to me that he can fight back against the Clinton machine, and showed to everyone that Hillary becomes shrill and nasty when she is actually confronted.

I keep getting this "how dare this uppity negro try to stop my destiny" vibe from the HRC campaign, and it is really starting to wear on me. Also, I don't like the way that the HRC campaign is trying to shove him into the role of the "Black Candidate", rather than the candidate for everyone INCLUDING Republicans and Independents.

In my opinion, in order to forward a progressive agenda, we need to grow the movement. In order to do so, we need to bring in Independents and wavering Republicans.

Obama can do this. Hillary cannot, and that is a fact.

  • Exactly.

    From Byron York:

"I went to Barack Obama’s rally here, on Sunday night, with a Republican friend who had never seen the Illinois senator in action before. Watching the crowd of more than 3,000 fill up the convention center, watching the people send up waves of energy to Obama, and watching him play off that energy in a speech that was one of the best political performances anyone has seen this year, my Republican friend said, simply, "Oh, shit." He recalled the scene from Jaws, in which the small seaside town’s sheriff realizes how big the shark he’s tracking truly is, and says, "We’re gonna need a bigger boat."

The Democrats have two weeks to decide the general election. I know the Republicans are on their knees every night praying for Hillary instead of Obama.

If it were clear to me that HRC had the potential to generate a true national mandate, drag a lot of Democrats in borderline states into Congress via her coattails, and cause independents to vote our way in a matchup against McCain, I'd have to reconsider my Obama support, and get comfortable with a 2nd choice with her.

The Republicans might benefit from the greatest unforced error in modern political history - the choice of an unpopular, calculating, divisive phony who needs the former president of the United States as her own personal attack dog to squeek through to a nomination.

A demoralized and divided Demcratic Party, no prospect of independent support and an opposition that will walk over broken glass to vote against her. I can't wait!

    Precicely how I feel.

He is just making sure that the Clinton lie machine doesn't swiftboat him into being a muslim.

And if you are telling me that you don't believe that the HRC Campaign doesn't have anything to do with it, I have a time share deal for you to look into.
