  • moral courage

[Read the article: Taking back the debate over Israel]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Cestmoi, you need to look into your heart and see that there is no moral justification for what Israel does. Seizing land, bulldozing homes, collective punishment. These are illegal and immoral acts and nothing justifies it. The lobsided nature of the casualties speak for themselves. I will never defend acts of terrorism. I consider it wrong whether the victim is a Palastinian or Israeli civilian. I am shocked that so many people are able to twist themselves into incredible contortions of logic in order to justify unspeakable acts of brutality. We are all children of one God and no life is more important than another. Sometimes the greatest courage is the courage to admit that maybe your own side isn't always right.

  • First person she calls should not be a lawyer

[Read the article: My husband of 12 years suddenly says he never loved me]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I don't have the time to read all of the posting here but from what I have read they seem to fall into two categories.

    1. get a lawyer

    2. be understanding of him

Actually what she should do is very simple. Hire a private detective. If he is cheating she will find out pretty quick. If not then she knows that she is probably dealing with depression brought on by a mid-life crisis.

I should get paid for this.

  • Private Detective

If he is cheating she should obtain a lawyer to ensure her kids are taken care off. Divorce the loser! OK I am a guy but cheating on your wife who just had your baby? Loser!

If he is not cheating he may be suffering from male menopause. In the mid to late forties men suffer a dramatic decline in their testoterone levels which often leads to depression. The solution may be as simple as testoterone replacement.

I also think the lady who suggested a one year cooling off period had a great idea. But again, first instead of guess work, just get a PI and find out for sure. Seriously, I should be paid for this......

Oh yeah, for Chris'sakes don't have any more babies! You have already taken up more than your quota!

  • Indiana Polls

[Read the article: The early line on tonight's results]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The average of Indiana polls have been showing Hillary up by around 5% but Zogby tracking poll has had Obama up slightly and consistantly for the last few days. So I wonder. Zogby was the most accurate pollster in Pennsylvania.

  • Wrong Track

[Read the article: My husband doesn't want to have sex with me]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The husband should have a full physical. Especially he should have his testoterone levels checked. If he is older there is a good chance that the problems are all related to low testosterone. This is more common than you may think in middle aged men and it can cause depression as well as loss in libido. If this is the case all he needs is testosterone replacement therepy and the depression will lift and his libido will return.

  • The Gipper

[Read the article: Why Ronald Reagan didn't completely suck]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Ronald Reagan was a lot of things. He was above all a fraud. He was a coward, a war criminal, a hypocrite, a bigot, a crook, a rapist, a dim wit, a turncoat, a scab, a war monger, a liar and a traitor. He was all of these things.

There was not one God damn good thing about him.

  • Would this have happened under Saddam?

[Read the article: Another day, another honor killing]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I have no illusions about the nature of Saddam's regime but from what I understand during his rule women had pretty much equal rights in Iraq. What might have happened if something like this had happened in his time. Also it sounds like this is just a wife/child abuser hiding behind his religion. We have those here too.

  • Simple

[Read the article: Ignore the McCain vs. Obama polls]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Its simple. In a fair election McCain couldn't win if his opponent was Mickey mouse and it was revealed the day before the election that the rodent was having an affair with Michael Jackson and doing drugs. It won't be a fair election. Republicans will use every dirty trick they can think of but they will still get buried in a landslide. McCain on his best day can't win.

  • Money Money Money

[Read the article: Psycho Christians and the media]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Gary is right about all of this but he misses the most important factor. The media is owned by a few big Corporations. The Corporations are in bed with the Republicans who deliver tax cuts, tax breaks. In addition Republicans allow media consolidation and turn a blind eye when the Corporations break the law. In return the Corporations ensure the Republicans get good press. They don't have to send out a memo, although that has happened (see the Donahue show). Simply put the ones who play ball get ahead. As a result an aspiring reporter or pundit knows how they have to behave to get moved up. The only answer is not to appeal to the goodness of these people. We need to break up media consolidation and ensure greater Democratic control.

  • Al Gore won and other facts

[Read the article: The ugliest election]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Al Gore won. This is a fact. Every inspection of the vote showed that when all legal votes were counted Al Gore won. This is the standard enshrined in Florida law not to mention the very basis of Democracy. No small thing. It does not matter if Gore lost Tennessee. It does not matter if he "should have won" by a bigger margin. It does not matter if you color in Republican counties red and Democratic counties blue and by land mass it looks like a Republican landslide. All the matters is that the majority of the US voter and the majority of Florida voters wanted Al Gore as President.

Gore won and he was cheated - bottom line.

    Other facts.

Vote cheating in Illinois did not throw the election to JFK, even if the voting was corrupt he won without the State.

It does not matter if the USSC voted 7-2 or 5-4 it was clearly a corrupt ruling which overturned the will of the people.

There were no WMD's in Iraq and Saddam had no ties to Al Queda.

These are just some of the facts. You are entitled to your opinion but not your own set of facts.
