Why target the ACLU?

The Weekly Standard crap tap was opened to manufacture legitimacy for Sen. Jeffy Sessions mission to stop Obama Administration judicial nominees, which is all about smearing appointees with imaginary ACLU dirt. They could care less about terrorists.

"Among the other judicial nominees who are awaiting a final vote is Edward Chen, a U.S. magistrate from San Francisco who, if confirmed, would be the first Asian American district judge in the Bay Area.

Last month, a Senate committee approved his nomination on a party-line 12-7 vote. But Sessions cited Chen's work for the ACLU before Chen became a magistrate in 2001."

-David Savage, LA Times November 16, 2009

"Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., who led the opposition to Hamilton, argued that Hamilton's record met his definition of extraordinary circumstances.

He not only attacked Hamilton's judicial record, but criticized his work in the distant past: vice president for litigation and board member of the American Civil Liberties Union in Indiana; and a fundraiser for two months for the Association of Community Organizatons for Reform Now (ACORN)."

Madden's wasted column

The gossip columnist complains about shallowness? Wait, I take it back. I'm the one wasting time reading junk like Madden's. I apologize to myself and promise not to do it again.

think of that

Gov. Goodhair Smallbrain doesn't get Rove's endorsement even though he's the conservative? KBH isn't crazy enough to be though of as conservative? The other candidate in the race must be A. T. Hun, moderate. Only in Texas.

Original article: Joe Barton strikes again

Wanna Bet?

@DoctorGreeves

"I'd love to believe that Joe is a dumb as he looks. But maybe that's just too easy. On the other hand, I have seen smarter-looking fence posts."

He's been my Congressman for twenty years, as a fellow traveler with T. DeLay, bugman, and I can tell you unequivocally that Joe really, truly, WYSIWYG, actually, is that dumb.

Think of this: during the great DeLay engineered earmark giveaways of the late, unlamented Republican congress, Barton had none. Yet he voted for them all, without any benefit for his district. Now, is that clever or stupid? The Moran played DeLay's music without realizing he was supposed to be playing too. What's the point of being in a criminal enterprise without getting paid?

Yeah, he plays the tune of the energy companies as well, but is dumb enough to think they support him for what he believes. Think of his mastery of Dr. Chu during the recent hearings. The Youtube vid could have been titled "Energy Secretary puzzled by simpleton's question."

Think of the frustration I feel when I get a request to write my congressman to support [fill in the blank]. Absolutely hopeless. The district is so magnificently gerrymandered that it would take a Katrina like event to change the politics of the good old Texas 6th.

Back to the bunker.

ya suh, massa

"...social traditions that, over time, have demonstrated that they exist for everyone's benefit."

This argument was put forth to justify the continuance of slavery, that peculiar institution that was really just for the benefit of everyone. Everyone being white slave owners, or in this case, Wingnuts, who now argue that this sort of bigotry needs respecting.

short and simple

Willie Wingnut, you skipped the clearest comparison: look at video of one Governor George W. Bush from 1999, and compare it to Michelle Bachman, 2009. Wingnuts want someone they can project themselves upon, and in these two they get blank slates. GWB just had better political advice.

reduced to nothing

Mr. Ehrlich,

Seriously, being reduced to plagiarizing Rush Limbaugh with the wheelchair bit? Perhaps shallow minds (barely) think alike.

I suppose pointing out that it was a concept vehicle will go over your head. Have you ever used a Segway vehicle, rather than engaging in juvenile sniggering? You might actually learn something, and appreciate what GM and Segway are exploring.

wait a minute

This isn't satire? Resurrecting the rotted corpse of 'Do-Over' Newt with a straight face and a blank mind? Po' lil Wingnut. If y'all hadn't of wrecked everything you touched when you were running things, I might have just laughed.

my favorite incumbents

Check the gerrymandered maps out for the 12th Pennsylvania and the 6th Texas to see how these two dinosaur incumbents, Barton and Murtha will never be defeated. Barton will be mine till death do us part.
