Progressives must remind the voters and the public that it was George W. Bush and his greedy, incompetent cabal that painted us into this corner, and never--- ever---- take it for granted that the message has fully sunk in.-- e_five
I agree with that, but the same thing could and should be said about the current battle for truth - this one that we are addressing in this thread - and every other battle that the Democrats have allowed to fester, or fade or become a tail between the legs embarrassment to them.
For example, Joe Lieberman just made a fool of himself again by chastising the Democrats for saying this on his website: "Lieberman Responds to Attacks on Iraqi Government
"...some of these opponents of the war are now turning their harshest criticism on our allies in Iraq instead of our enemies."
He posted that on the same day that the intelligence report came out saying exactly what some of the Democrats had been saying, that being what Leiberman had knocked them around for. Leiberman should have been taken to task. Leiberman should have been put out to pasture a long time ago. But...nope. The Democrats just don't make their case. Everyday.
"Ultimately, the choice we face in Iraq is not between the current Iraqi government and a perfect Iraqi government. Rather, it is a choice between a young, imperfect, struggling democracy that we have helped midwife into existence, and the totalitarian, terrorist regime that al Qaeda hopes to impose in its place, should we retreat.
The old 'black and white' choices of Joe Leiberman. An impossibly "perfect Iraqi government" or an all evil all the time al Qaeda run government? Those are the choices? "Ultimately"? It's like being preached at and lectured to by the soup-board guy who hangs out down along the boardwalk at the beach.
I wasn't talking about GGI was referring to the people in the comments that constantly blame republicans while failing to analyze the actions of their own party leadership, but thanks for taking my comment out of context. You should go work for a campaign.
Paul Rosenberg didn't take your comments out of context. He addressed them exactly as you said them. He understood what you said and he replied to you succinctly.
If you are trying to say that shortening your post is taking it out of context, that would be nonsense since your full post was shortly above his for all to read.
I just read a few of your comments. You're more than just a little bit of a one-note-johnny, there, aren't you?
It ain't no great shakes to just yell about how sure you are that the world is going to hell because everyone but you is on to the politicians. If you'd bother to actually comprehend other posts from commentors you might see that some people are not only on to what's going on, but they are continuing to try to do something about it. That's much more useful than the sarcastic, chest-puffery-arrogance that I read in so many of your posts.
Should have read: 'because no one but you is on to the politicians'. Not, 'because everyone but you...'
...grassroots driven when it is, in fact, bank rolled by wealthy right wingers and not a large number of middle class citizens.-- CRL
Assuming here that by 'middle class citizens" you are referring to middle income citizens, I object. 'Grass Roots' doesn't exclude lower income citizens, and Grass Roots doesn't exclude higher income 'citizens'. Grass Roots includes all who sincerely support the cause. Some citizens might send in a comparatively small fifty dollars or so over a years time. Or they might give of their time, or do both. A higher income citizen might offer a large sum but not give of their time, or they also might do both. It all counts. It all counts just the same.
Unfortunately, much of the blogosphere and other media outlets have emphasized the wrong question, challenging the integrity of anyone who dares to express politically incorrect views about Iraq.--O'Hanlon
Note the framing. How is questioning someone who has made up bullshit about Iraq dumbed down to questioning "'politically incorrect' views about Iraq"? And how "daring", as O'Hanlon frames it, is it to make up bullshit, and then whine while pretending to be challenged for expressing so called 'politically incorrect views'?
Could O'Hanlon be any more transparent?
I think it's a near universal that people who overcome an obstacle do so by positive attitude and determination. Edison failed 199 times before getting the recipe for light bulbs right.
How many people did Edison have to kill or see killed or run out of the country before getting the light bulb right?
The great mind of Edison was on the right track. The puny mind of George Bush is not and never has been. So there will be no light bulb at the end of this tunnel.
Obviously, whoever is paying $300,000 per month to BGR realizes that Iraqi "sovereignty" is an illusion and power in Iraq is determined not by Baghdad but by the Beltway. And we don't even really pretend otherwise any more,...GG
Wondering if any Iraqi bloggers, reporters, TV personalities and so on are weighing in on this blatant Iraq "sovereignty" illusion reality.
Anyone have any information concerning the other members of this firm?

Ed Rogers used to have a popular TV show on PBS called Mr. Roger's Neighborhood.
Oh wait, that was Fred Rogers, not Ed. Sorry. ;o)
For clean record keeping purposes...that was Mister Roger' Neighborhood.
