I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me......

the rationalization that invading Afghanistan is OK, but invading Iraq was not.

Afghanistan didn't attack us, has no WMD's, hasn't invaded other countries or gassed it's own population. If OBL had holed up in Sweden, would liberal orthodoxy allowed an invasion there? Inquiring minds want to know.

    -- shooter242

Personally, I'm not of the 'it was okay without question crowd' to attack in Afghanistan. But OBL wasn't just "holed up" in Afghanistan. His organization had for years been training and planning in Afghanistan. It's not like he ran into Sweden after having pulled off his attack on the US.

Another incredibly idiotic reply by the S'Bag who calls himself 242.

It could take years, but it's been many fewer years so far, than required by Americans to develop a final Constitution after our own revolution. We've been in Korea for over 50 some odd years. Hopefully this will resolve itself sooner.

    -- shooter242

All right, that does it. You're relegated to the rubber room. No one could be that stupid and not hurt himself or others.

I've never seen either of the Wilson's testify, but I do wonder if Shooter holds our dear Attorney General to the same standards as he holds those who expose the sort of administration lies that the AG spouts in testimony to Congress.

There is no need to wonder. Just read a couple of S'Bag242's posts and you'll see that S'Bag242 doesn't hold Gonzalez to any standard bar above worm and snake level. Much like S'Bag242 himself.

They couldn't if they wanted to. You'd need 60 votes in the Senate to start with and then 67 to over-ride.

    -- Wesley_Powell

It comes back to the same problem we've for so long had with the Democrats. They don't scream to the roof tops to make their case. If they would constantly and relentlessly make their case then there would be enough Republican Senators and Representatives who would feel that their seat would be so threatened that they would need to get on board with withdrawal and so forth. Even if screaming to the rooftops doesn't result in a majority vote right now on important issues, it would and will result in the loss of many, many more Republican seats in the House and in the Senate.

Do you think this is a subject you will ever address directly? I am just curious. You have a voice. I am curious to what extent you are willing to use it.

    -- adnoto

You can take my word for it or not, but I'll tell you up front, what I am about to say to you has nothing to do with our earlier back and forth.

This post of yours that I am replying to is flat out, nonsense and dopey.

    In my real life

I actually dislike confrontation and don't necessarily put forward my political views when dealing with strangers or with people whose views I'm not familiar with.

But at this point in time, I can say to just about anyone I meet, "GW Bush is absolutely the worst president in the history of the United States" and have no fear whatsoever of a hostile reaction. That being the case, you would think that the Dems in Congress could at least say something like "Alberto Gonzales is a serial liar who has no business having a job let alone holding public office."

    You'd think.

    -- Paul Dirks

Unless things change dramatically between now and the time that I die, I want that on my gravestone, lol. That would guarantee me to have a big ol' gravestone.

    "and a larger government"

    -- Elephantman

How would it be possible to have a "larger government" than the one that has spent everything we'll ever have for the next hundred years, you ignorant fool?

I think (I hope) that the Democrats in Congress are hoping to get enough Republican votes to force Bush to follow the Baker Report. Can they succeed? Probably not, but it's worth trying.

    -- jon

No f'in way. There is no reason to spend a minute trying to convince the Bush Administration about anything, much less withdrawal from Iraq. Borne yesterday, were you?

Full speed ahead without any input from the murderers and liars populating the Bush Administration.

    - boppitywop

Your assessment won't stand if the Democrats say a gall danged thing to make their points.

It's odd to me that you and others assume that a case can't be made against the ever so long and ever so incorrect rwtalking points bullshit that the American public is so f'ing fed up with. Its an easy case to make.

    Conservatives are counting on you.

    -- shooter242

Don't try to claim that you're a "conservative, S'Bag. You're not. You're just a s'bag. You've proven that once again with your last post.

  • "A Bad Example"

[Read the article: Why is the Democratic Congress so unpopular?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I sincerely hope not, but history is little comfort in that regard. Events have already undone the certainty of folks like shooter and Bobbitt in everyone's eyes except their own, and still they're lecturing us on the real world, and on seriousness. They won't jump, I'm afraid; they'll have to be pushed.

    -- William Timberman

Well put Mr. William Timberman. I've been pushing S'Bag242 for years now. A friend of mine had a saying. "If you serve no other purpose, at least you serve the purpose of showing what a bad example is." That's what Shitbag242 is, a bad example of a so called human being. That's Shitbag242's only purpose in life. To serve as a bad example. A horrible example, actually. The absolute scum of the earth example, actually.

Hey, where is that fantastic, and happens to be a sensationally nice looking, news reporter from CBS in Iraq who made fun of the tramp Laura whatsit for bragging about having spent "Eight days" in the Greenzone?
