What Now Mr. Rove?
[Read the article: The warped reality of our media stars]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Before the 2006 election in the "unlikely event" that the Democrats would win the house back The Rovian Republicans had been planning to demonize and trivilize Pelosi from the outset. Even before the outset.
As I'm sure most of you recall, the belittling of Pelosi has been on full boil from a combination of talking points and beltway "star" pundits repeating those talking points since before the election of 2006 was in the history books.
So, now that it is so clearly not working what will their plan B be? I've noticed that the Bush administration, and the beltway pundits, often times don't have a Plan B. (See "Winning Hearts and Minds". See "Operation Iraqi Freedom". See Occupation of Iraq.)

Shooter, Chronic Disparager?
[Read the article: The warped reality of our media stars]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"...the Democrat party. Tsk."
Serious, no kidding question for you Shooter. Would you please explain to us why it is that you have shown yourself incapable or unwilling to call the Democratic Party by it's name? That has been the name of the party since the party's inception. Are you ignorant about that fact? Do you think it's funny when you type democrat party? Does the disprespectfulness of not calling the party by it's name give you pleasure? What's your explanation for your chronically incorrect usage of "democrat party" instead of Democratic Party?

Given a Chance...
[Read the article: The warped reality of our media stars]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Life must be good indeed if this is the biggest thing you have to worry about.
--Shooter
Ask a simple question, and get nothing but tripe as a reply. I gave you a chance to show yourself to be something other than the pigdroppings that you, everday, are on this site, Shooter. Your self indulgent non-reply to my question cemented, once again, what a disingenuous piece of work that you are.

Bush and Abu Widely Exposed
[Read the article: Gonzales' Fan Club of One]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Olberman, tonight, mentioned, and attributed to you, much of what you've posted in this post and another of your posts, Glenn. The 'larger megaphone' you've gained by moving to Salon is paying off. That was what was hoped for, and that was the main purpose of the move. Was it not?

Pick One
[Read the article: Gonzales' Fan Club of One]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I think it's fair to say that Gonzales has lost the confidence of at least half the Republican senators on the committee. He's given people too many causes of termination to choose from. You can want him to go for subverting the federal justice system. Or if that's too much for you to handle you can say he should go for running Main Justice like some ungainly combination of a Young Republicans summer camp and Michael Brown's FEMA. And if even that creates too much collateral damage for you to deal with you can just say he should go for lying about everything that happened.
Plenty of reasons to go around.
-- Josh Marshall
Even the usual shills are exasperated with this hopelessly inept liar. If the guy can't cover his ass any better than he has (and who could cover a trail of lies like the ones he has already told?) than only a hapless person like Shooter could obliviously continue to ride Abu's pony.

Support for Abu Shrinks
[Read the article: Gonzales' Fan Club of One]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Gonzales' sole enthusiastic supporters, by our count, are Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and the White House.
http://www.tpmmuckraker.com/archives/003073.php
The article goes on to list Senate Republicans, House Republicans and Conservative editorials calling for Abu's resignation or dismissal.
So, actually, Abu has three supporters now: The White House, the unseemly Orin Hatch and that one who is ever so complacent with the US government leading into dictatorship and tyranny, Shooter242.

Worm Turn
[Read the article: Gonzales' Fan Club of One]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Not to say, of course, that Gonzales is anything but a filthy liar - but it will take a lot more from the "spectators" than simply cheering on the senators. In order to make this into anything else than yet another useless hearing process - that will result in little else except senators congratulating themselves for their cleverness in usage of adjectives, while avoiding the difficult verbs.
There is a difference this time. Back when Spector and others blustered on and only to aquiesce in the end to the bush Administration's wishes in full there was a Republican majority. Now that the stink of the administration's past and present stench becomes more and more unearthed, well, the gig is up. Going along with or trying to ignore or spin what this horrid adminstration this has done and continues to do will not bode well for Repulicans in the present or in the future.
At any rate, I'm all for hearing and seeing the public make their/our voices loudly heard.

[Read the article: Charles Krauthammer takes rank hypocrisy to new lows]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If you aren't interesting in convincing the people sympathetic to Jack's view, why the hell are you bothering to argue all this? The left already knows it, and the right won't ever care.
I don't know if what Jack has been going on about all day could even be coined as a "view". It's just been a lot of whack-a-mole hogwashism's.
And what's the difference between someone who's "sympathetic to Jack's view" and "the right" that "won't even care"? They're one and the same.

Gaubatz the Hero!
[Read the article: Right-wing blogs discover massive conspiracy to hide WMDs in Iraq]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Gaubatz plays one one TV. Or so it would seem.
From his bio:
The first U.S. civilian Federal Agent deployed to Nasiriyah, Iraq, in 2003, Mr. Gaubatz was able to travel to various cities throughout Iraq, using his Arabic-language training extensively. During this time, he led a mission to rescue the family of Mohammed Odeh Al-Rehaief, the Iraqi lawyer who saved the life of Private Jessica Lynch. Today, Mr. Al-Rehaief and his family live safely in the Washington, D.C. area.

What a guy. Saved the guy who saved the gal who, as we all know, was being attended to with great care by Iraqi doctors and medical personal before the "special ops" burst in - camera's ablaze along with guns and boots - and saved Jessica.
What kind of a needy, attention grabbing nutbag is this Gaubatz fellow anyway?
