Wow...Just...Wow

And since Ace is also so clearly a paragon of intellectual honesty, I'm sure we can count on his apology to Professor Cole any moment now...

I read what you linked to. It is absolutely jaw dropping. How do they face the world after having made such utter fools of themselves?!

Apology for Juan Cole?

Pathetic, and he still owes Juan Cole an apology for his behavior. And now for misspelling Glenn's name, IMHO.

I suspect that Juan Cole needs an apology from Ace Of Drain Swirl about as much as he needs an apology from the neighborhood dog that barks all the time at nothing.

@arnold

i wanted this war to end before it started but having been a troop in the field [many moons ago] i will support nothing that endangers them and neither should you.

-- arnold1

The Senate sent a a bill to Bush that afforded the military all that it asked for. It had time-lines attached to it. Bush vetoed it for that reason. Not because the money wasn't there. So what is it that makes you question if the congress would be endangering the troops when they, after all, did provide all the needed funds in the bill that they sent to Bush to sign.

Very interesting and illuminating. Thanks.

Here's a "bandwagon" for you

"phony" = Shooter242.

Face Down Fred

Shouldn't Thompson's refusal to debate Michael Moore be taken for what it really is? A chicken-out, warmed over for double embarrassment by his phony cigar chomping lecture?

On another note: Glenn, I feel you might be making a bit too much of an issue about the age of his bride. While I know nothing of the circumstances which resulted in their marriage, I don't automatically jump to the conclusion that 'age difference' marriages are anything to scoff at or be suspicious of. Some just happen because the two people involved really do fall in love or feel true affection for one another. Thus, for any two unspecified people, their age difference becomes an issue only because of those who are on the outside looking in.

None of this has any bearing on my repulsion of the phony who is Fred Thompson.

Karen

Kitt...

I agree with Glenn. Have you seen his new wife?

No, I haven't seen his new wife.

I understand how this plays into the point of the post and the point of the whole values game. I was just pointing out that it is not always the case and one should be careful not to pigeon hole anyone who marries a younger person.

It is not at all unlikely that Fred Thompson's motives are much less than pure. But, actually, that's not the whole matter that I was addressing.

I read Glenn's reply to me and I completely understand what he was saying. In fact, I knew why he used that subject even while posted my objection. Hopefully I've managed to express my reasons for, in some aspect, objecting.

Mommy/Daddy Shooter?

What you see as a dig at women is actually a dig at the Democrat "men". You folks are becoming the "Mommy" party.

-- shooter242

What does that mean, Shooter? Mommy party? And in what way do male Democrats fit into your definition of "mommy party"?

Also, does that statement by you mean that you are proudly proclaiming the 'Republic' party as the daddy party? And if so, does that help make you feel all safe and cozy in the hands of your daddy figures?

Shooter's Questionable Maturity

You may have felt more safe and cozy with your dad than your mom, but I'd venture to say that most Dads were figures demanding maturity.

-- shooter242

Is that a 'yes' answer to my question? You believe that the repulic party is the daddy party and that makes you feel mature, or something, because you go in for the propaganda. In my world being able to admit when you're wrong - something you, and for that matter, George Bush, never do, is a sign of maturity. You're still posting that Plame wasn't covert. Your inability to admit it when you've been wrong is equal to that of a 3 year old.

If demanding maturity is what you judge your father's worthiness by, then your father has failed you miserably.

Always Reaching for Those Straws, Shooter

I don't think jo jo's description of childhood is really all that abnormal or pie in the sky, Shooter. Or, as you say, Beaver Cleaver like. Also, nothing in her post implies that two so called mommies or two so called daddies couldn't administer to the 'boo boos' and the 'straitening outs' any more or less so than a mother and father of the opposite sex.

George Will and David Broder could be referees. Maybe substitute with Peggy Noonan and or Jonah Goldberg once in a while.

Link for Shooter

Here's one for you, Shooter. Even you might be familiar with it. Although, judging by your challenge to, I believe it was Jonathon Hoag, I have to wonder if you've stuffed this one down your memory hole.

Bucky's the Weiner!

Brilliant! Boy you lefties really know how to debate; "a lot of stupid shit", get it from Homer Simpson?

-Bucky1

Always cracks me up when people (such as bucky1) try to deride someone (such as LWM) for saying what they think is less than glorious by saying something that is at least as low-brow as what it is that they are deriding.

That especially applies in a case where someone gets fed up with all the deceit and war and they use some so called profane language to express their disgust. The war monger person invariably comes back with some self righteous crap about 'argument over, I win cause you cussed'!

Yeah, right.
