    Put it this way

More words have been written about the opinions of the opinions of the critique of the opinions of the opinions of the words of some 2nd rate media critic than the sum total of the works of Shakespeare.

What's funny is when some of them try to come across as regular 'joes' or 'janes' by starting up a blog. Like Joe Klein for example. I doubt that he expects to be excoriated every time he posts but he, deservedly so, is excoriated every time he posts. Just goes to show you how out of touch he is. He actually thinks that his bullshit is passing muster out here. Obviously, according to the comments on his blog,...it ain't.

Asshole. This ISN'T a blog. Only self absorbed tools like you think it is. That's really the core of the problem; asshole like you.

Cheers to you too & air kisses.

I'll bet you used to throw yourself on the floor and kick your legs and scream at your mommy when you didn't get your way. Maybe you still do that. Seems like it.

but this confusion of neurons as I get older still unsettles me.)

Yep. I always wonder...was it the acid, or was it the 'too much' beer over the years?

  • The South

Isn't it past time to cut the South loose, though?

Does the nation really need more of what the South has to offer?

    -- Ché Pasa

I just can't get behind that kind of group-think. I have very close friends in Louisiana. They are just as disgusted with George Bush and the rest of this craptastic administration as you and I are. There is no need to cut out an entire portion of the country just because some folks are trying to rot the barrel.

I didn't see the show, but it doesn't sound like a pleasant experience to have witnessed it. Glad I missed it. I suspect it would have made me uncomfortable, as it did you, Joan.

I don't get your condescending conclusion about the south. I also don't get your take that the Democratic Party trying to understand and communicate with the south means that they are appeasing the dumbshits in the south. Maybe they are just trying to pull the not so dumbshits and the rest of the regular joes and janes into feeling included with the reality based.

Really, I'm about up to hear with your cliche take on southerners. It's, frankly, bigoted and stupid.

    2) I also deplore the pandering to Southern Sensibilty ("let's talk about banning abortion, let's not talk about gays, put them back in the closet, and Oh My How I Love My Jeebus!") that has gone on in the very highest levels of the Democratic Party candidate pool to try to appeal to Southern prejudice and worse. If that's the kind of understanding and inclusion you're down with, then I think you'd better check your own bigotry meter.

That you would even think that I see any of that differently than you described just goes to show that you are underestimating me and southerners. I know the DNC make fools of themselves by playing idiotic games. But aren't we all beyond that here at Salon? So that's why I called you out. It just seems to me that you have bought into what those guys are selling. The South isn't what the DNC make it out to be. So, they're fighting the wrong battle. On that, you and I agree. What's really depressing is that the DNC is still being portrayed as the face of the Democratic party.

PS...I might be confusing the DNC with the other front group of the Democratic Party. Whichever one it is that Dean is not in charge of is the one I meant to use as an example.

Jive Lady: Cut me some slack, Jack! Chump don' want no help, chump don't GET da' help! Jive ass dude don't got no brains anyhow! Hmmph!

You do realize that 'jive lady' was played by June Cleaver? Ward's wife, and Wally and Beaver's mom.

bebop-o represents the part of my brain that I am forever stupidly having to apologize for. I know I have it right, but ALL of the people around me question my outlook. Much of the time it seems like hell on earth to be astute. So rare to be understood.

Indeed, and considering the reports of gangs running amuck, gunfire, dead bodies littering the Dome, etc. it was the right thing to do.

That's the same reporting that caused us to proceed to "the right thing to do" in Iraq. You, Spooter, have got to be one of the stupidest f'ing bastards on the face of the earth. You and Doug Feith should go on tour.

Unfortunately, in this war the combatants are undercover saboteurs. We could just let them roam around if you like. Are you willing to go on record as wishing to abandon the phone record search for terrorists? No listening in on overseas calls? What other insulation from discovery would you like to provide these people?

You are either incapable of telling the truth or you are incapable of reading. None of what you posted in the above post is true. You and Doug Feith are one of a kind. Idiots.

Do you think that just because the Germans, for example, had actual uniforms that they didn't have the ability to infiltrate or have spies? You're so stupid, Spooter, that it's impossible to rate your stupidity.

at least Bush is not rounding up every Arab-American and shipping them off to camps ; )

    -- Jake007

Kind of lowballing, ain't you? At least Bush hasn't decidererd to drop nukes on Iraq and Iran. What a guy.
