"The true democracy, living and growing and inspiring ... will not condemn those whose devotion to principle leads them to unpopular courses, but will reward courage, respect honor, and ultimately recognize right."--John F. Kennedy
http://www.jfklibrary.org/Education+and+Public+Programs/Profile+in+Courage+Award/
The democrats who capitulated to this disgrace have already blown their chances of ever winning a Profile in Courage Award, but it would be ever so much appreciated if they could find the courage to now make amends for their disgraceful non-action by acting now.
Ché Pasa... "It's just a piece of paper."
I just want to point out that Bush never really said that. As much harm as he has done to our Democratic Republic that particular sentence having been attributed to him is a myth.
Kitt: Really? Well, fiddle-dee-deeHe sure acts like he believes it, doesn't he?
Yes, he does. In fact, I don't doubt that he thinks that way. And, I think, that might partly be because he finds that actually seriously reading The Constitution is too difficult - too much for him to comprehend. That's how lazy and incurious I believe him to be.
Nobody on the left is that "vituperative and foul-mouthed" except maybe the RudePundit.
Yeah but, The Rude Pundit is in a class by himself. The guy has real talent for his jaw-droppingly rude punditry.
about that piece of paper (really parchment)I also remembered that it was about the Constitution, but that the quote was "It's just a g*ddamned piece of paper!" In fact, I was surprised that the quote was cleaned up here.
Here's a link to an article that decides that it probably wasn't true. I don't know. I remember when this came out from the not very reliable Capitol Hill Blue. I read someone who convinced me that it wasn't true. I don't remember who, or why they were the most convincing. The only reason I brought it up is because if we don't have the facts straight, that's not good. That's all.

It's simple...Joe Klein thinks it's smart to pretend to be stupid when in fact he's so stupid, he thinks he's smart. I'd repeat that more clearly if I could but I'm still dizzy from the first time.

Nutshell. I have nothing to add to that.
We thank you.
-- shooter242
What are you thanking us for, exactly? Bush's 28% approval rating? The nearly identical rating of the MSM? What the flying cow pie are you thanking us for Shooter 242? You earned the above mentioned without our help by Bush so obviously being the worst president ever, and by you being a sample of the worst crew of whining worms trying to defend the worst president ever.
Don't thank us. You are your boy earned it all by your lonesomes by being so incredibly stupid.
Well that is really all we are asking here, and you call this "asking the impossible?" Come on shipmate, you can do better.
-- Barnaby
No, Shooter can't do better. Shooter is defending the worst president ever and, consequently, the worst troll/fool line of shit ever. There is no where to go but out.
Searching for a common man
I would dearly love to know how Broder goes about locating a common man to speak with. Does he talk to the valet at the club?
-- Charles Watkins
According to the original post he goes door to door. Smiles all around.
Jojo, I'm wondering, are you are the same jojojo I used to know at SOL?
best comment of the daye-five... Wow. I hate myself for even looking at the computer.
-- L.W.M.
Yeah. I burst out laughing immediately. An actual, honest to goodness, LOL.
It might take a little longer to gain insider respect that way... like until after the 2008 election. But isn't that rather quick for long-term thinking to pay off?-- Paul Rosenberg
Yes, and it makes me very suspicious of Huffington's motives. The people you mentioned are not only fantastically insightful, but they are also prolific writers. Why the hell does Huffington decide to hire boring, lightweight middle of the roaders? This doesn't make sense for moving the conversation along in any meaningful way.
No. it won't happen for me. For every Salon or HuffPo that I read, I've dropped 20 other blogs along the way.--Denning
I think Glenn means that the MSM will portray it that way in every newspaper article and every talking head bullshit segment. consequently, the misinformed will continue to be even more misinformed and unaware of what "real" blogging and and top notch bloggers, such as Glenn and Josh Marshall, are all about.
I agree with what you will take away from what Huffpo is trying to do. I thought that was obvious. But you and I are not the kind of people that Glenn was voicing concern about in his post about the damage Huffpo might possibly do by giving msm'rs more ammunition to work with. At least that is what I took from Glenn's comment/post on that particular subject.
@Kitt
What's SOL? The acronym doesn't ring a bell, but that may only reflect the state of my mental processes today.

More than technology or convinience, success of the blogs is the result of the epic failure of MSM. It's hard to imagine MSM re-gaining their position by doing more of the same, e.g., the scenario in GG's quote.-- Denning
Yeah, that is hard to imagine. But then, it's hard to imagine that George Bush was (sort of) 'elected' president...twice, and that people like Joe Klein still continue to make millions for doing...what, exactly?
