Just because you're against unions doesn't mean you're rich --
it means you're enlightened. I've been on both sides, as a union employee for 10 years, and non-union the past 12 years. Having witnessed the "entitlement mentality" of union employees and leaders, along with the crooked union leaders ripping-off union members, etc., etc....I realized I didn't want my future to be dependent on those clowns, and it was the best decision I ever made. Yes, unions have lost membership, due to companies moving production oversees, but that's because they became uncompetitive, paying up to $70/hr. or more between salary and benefits for someone to perform work that doesn't require any skill and can be easily done for $7.00/hr. elsewhere. Now, seeing the unions "demanding" Obama do what they tell him --"or else"..is deja vu all over again. Anyone who caves in to lobbyists/union leaders/ACORN demands/blackmail -- is ignorant.
Telling kids to stay in school and get an education is one thing; however, there's something icky and eerie about the president asking them to write about "how they can help the president". (God knows he needs help!)
The bottom line is, more and more Americans simply don't trust Obama's agenda anymore. His idea of "change" and the majority of Americans' idea of "change" are two different things!
Obama administration's lost its integrity; Van Jones is just one reason why. This is why many, many Americans don't trust
Obama and don't want him giving 'lesson plans" to their children.
Most Americans don't trust Obama anymore, he's lost his integrity. They chose to ignore the red flags during the campaign and give him a chance. But recent fiascos with his buddy Gates and the cop, and now the communist Van Jones, just leads everyone to wonder about all the others we haven't heard about - yet. Democrats are proving to be reckless and irresponsible and there's just too much at stake to put up with this nonsense. We need responsible adults in the White House.
Who cares what the far-right or the far-left thinks? They're extremists. The bottom line is, "most" Americans, both Democrat and Republican ---don't trust Obama anymore. The Obama administration's lost its integrity, through 8 months of
ineptness, ineffectiveness, embarrasing mistakes, chaos, to name a few reasons.
These people are experts at getting government funding --- taxpayer dollars -- to further their left-wing radical causes. Its a scam; cap and trade never did make any sense to anybody, either, now we know why.
Its all about cost reductions, stupid. Conservatives are the only ones with real solutions. 1) torte reform 2) open up interstate commerce to create "real" competition. Until
you reduce those costs, you don't have "real" reform; you're kidding yourselves, and we know it.
Maybe you need to look in the mirror when it gets to the point
that no one is "liberal enough" for you.. ? Maybe something just might be wrong with You?
The pharmaceutical industry and the union teaming up... and that surprises you? Yep, they have a lot in common.
Of course he was fired up, he was talking to "unions", who he
"owes" his presidency to. What I find far more astonishing are the 15,000 "individuals" who showed up down the street, in West Chester, at a tea party, to protest Obamacare. All on their own.
The speech, the message, was great, no one should have an issue with that. Note, the ISSUE was the original assignment to "help the president meet his goals" -- which the administration withdrew after Americans questioned it. (Why did they withdraw it, if nothing was wrong with it?)
Fast food, our love affair with the automobile, suburbia, higher vicious crime levels (guns), and inefficiency of medical delivery are a few of the reasons we for our unhealthy lifestyle which affects overall healthcare costs. Government takeover/public options will Not solve most of these
problems. Eating habits do not change overnight; unless gas prices skyrocket again, Americans will not get off their asses and walk anywhere either. I'd like to know what percentage of emergency room visits are result of drugs and gang criminal activity as well.
I hope Obama explains: 1)why he's against opening up interstate commerce to create "true competition" in the health insurance industry; 2) why he's against torte reform;
3) with public option, would our government be "setting prices" for doctors, hospitals, prescriptions? Or, would taxpayers be charged for the difference (along with premiums they're already paying) 4) will government public option cover abortions? Is it true no plan would be forbidden from providing abortion services?
Like the "Majority of Americans", I am Against the Public Option. There is no evidence whatsoever that it will reduce
actual medical costs.
Go ahead, rush it through and you'll pay the consequences later. Who cares if the Majority of Americans are Against public option. Obama administration only represents unions/acorn/far-left. The majority, which are "individuals" (who aren't sheep)don't count anymore.
It does appear she was just trying to get rid of the crazy lady, (and maybe the crazy lady was planted there), however, there's still no excuse.
It was too long and repetitive. The numbers don't add up, either. My 24-yr. old son suggested Obama be given a lie detector test, because he can't believe Obama actually believes his own B.S.
The language in the bill is either very sloppy or purposely written so that you can't prevent or enforce illegal aliens
from being insured. So Joe Wilson was being honest, even though it wasn't appropriate.
Obama identified the objectives; I thought he made it pretty clear the objectives can be met without the government-run public option. So the only obstacle appears to be those who insist on the public option.
Of course Wilson's behavior was inappropriate and he apologized. However, he seems to know what he's talking about.
Apparently the language in the bill is either very sloppily written or purposely done so that there's no way to prevent illegal aliens from getting insurance coverage.
