free market system

I don't think Americans are ready to give up their free market

system just yet. Attacking sectors of the economy is not the way to reform anything. If that's how democrats reform, then

why not take on the sports sector? How many Americans can afford to take their familiies to see anything other than a high school game anymore? Who can afford the tickets to see a

professional team in their area? Look at how much professional players make! And while you're at it, who can afford to take their family to a movie anymore, unless you take out a loan? Look at what hollywood pays actors! Why doesn't Obama reform that next? Oops--it might step on some of his supporters toes, however...

Whoever comes up with the simplest, most efficient way to reform health insurance system, through "true" cost savings, cost containment, allowing consumers to buy insurance across state lines, etc... will be elected next.

don't be so quick to jump to conclusions

I prefer to believe my relatives in Europe, who I've had many, many discussions on health care, for the past 15 years or more. Better yet, why is Europe and Canda both moving toward private health insurance?

just ignore it and it will go away

Maybe the Democrat-way is to just ignore things that you don't want to think about; however, if 80% of healthcare costs happen in the last 2 wks. of a person's life, you know damn well parameters will be set-up for end-of-life decisions. If they're not, then a year or 2 years later we will all be hit with 60%+ tax increase, or... the hospitals and doctors will ask government to "bail them out"...its very simple.

whichever way the wind blows

Flaky democrats are so desperate and confused, they go whichever way the wind blows. Must be frustrating.

democrats haven't changed

The democratic party hasn't changed at all, they don't know what they stand for, so they find these charismatic, super-slick snake oil salesmen like Obama and Clinton to try to sell their product, which by the way, is non-existent. Government/

bureaucratic takeover, that's their only solution. And just look at the Post Office, look at Medicare, look at FEMA, look at the SEC, etc... they're either losing enormous amounts of money or they're asleep at the wheel.

it was not that great of a deal

Negotiating must not be one of Obama's strengths. Sure hope he didn't have to give up much, because what he got was nothing but a drop in the bucket, nothing to shout about.

we know Medicare is a public program; a failed one

Its hard to understand why democrats would constantly bring up

Medicare as an example of a public program. Medicare is going bankrupt... so why would we want to encourage more of the same?

democrats look like a dysfunctional circus act

Democrats, with their ugly, mean-spirited responses to anyone who disagrees with them; their Speaker of the House who calls dissenting Americans "un-American", their President berating our police on national TV; their left-wing-loonies making demands, congresswoman talking on her cellphone while a taxpayer is asking her a question during a town meeting; and

without a "fiscally-responsible health insurance reform plan"... What next? Obama will say that God made him do it. He'll turn to religion to try to make Americans feel guilty. When your product doesn't sell itself, that's what a desperate salesperson does.

politics

Healthcare reform is a clusterfk'd mess, so lets switch to torture again... Obama's good cop/bad cop routine with Holder is pretty lame. So is second-guessing tactics used against

terrorists to keep this country safe from another attack. Democrats are looking pretty puny.

its impossible and Kennedy proved it !

If you recall, even Kennedy's health reform proposal didn't cover all Americans! If there was a "real" health reform plan, with "real" numbers in it (not just pie-in-the-sky ideas)

it would sell itself. Conservatives have the best solutions to reduce cost and help cover all Americans: open up interstate commerce to create more competition; and, torte reform.

what is her relative expertise

Liz Cheney practiced international law; worked in the State

Dept. as 2nd ranking U.S. diplomat in the mideast, etc. She clearly has more expertise than the liberal buffoons she debates.

The Kennedy's...

When you consider the Kennedy's and their inlaws with all their fingers in politics, and how Ted Kennedy got into the Senate at the age of 30... no other family even comes close !

Tuesday, September 1, 2009 10:08 AM

is someone intimidated

I love it, reading these comments. Yes, it must be hard to watch an intelligent person like Liz Cheny, who also has practical experience in the Mideast, etc. --- run circles around empty-suit liberals on Stephanopolous' show. Liberals are the most blind, hypocritical people anywhere. They have no problem with Ted Kennedy being "handed" a job in the Senate at the age of 30 with absolutely no experience--- and he admittedly wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, either. Then they ignore the Chappaquidick tragedy (and all the others that were kept quiet because he's a Kennedy), and keep voting for him! And then they attribute his work as "altruism"!!. No, that's called Catholic "guilt" and "redemption"....

Liberals = Losers.

Original article: Quote of the day

very astute

that brings to mind, we haven't heard anyone touting our messiah's supposed superior intelligence for "quite awhile", now. Gee, I wonder why...

typical liberal response

Very typical of liberals to blame someone else for their failures. There's mass confusion about health insurance reform because the current administration failed to communicate effectively, because they never even tried to find "solutions"; their only goal is government takeover (public option) of health insurance, so they keep brow-beating us with their platitudes. This is politics, nothing else., and that's why it doesn't make sense.

Tuesday, September 1, 2009 02:02 PM

Unions are now running our country

Unions bullied private industry, resulting in exhorbitant costs, so jobs moved overseas. Now unions are bullying the Obama administration because Obama owes his presidency to them.

It doesn't matter whether you're an insurance lobbyist or whether you're a union on the take---they're all scum. We will never solve the healthcare/health insurance problems like this.

just what we need, another sales strategy/speech

Unbelievable. Totally clueless. How about solutions? How about working within the free market system: open up interstate commerce to create more competition for insurance companies? How about working on torte reform? Nah--- its much easier to just do a government takeover, don't bother reducing costs, and just jack up our taxes every year to cover

the increasing costs....
