that's my point

Yes, if you're incompetent and inept, anyone can rip you off.

But its the procuring person's responsibility to make sure they're getting the best deal. Ever heard of buyer beware?

Our government does not shop around for the best deal, they don't even believe in getting competitive bids in many cases.... come on... open your eyes, examples are everywhere. Government is incompetenet and inefficient.

Our taxes will be out of control and there will be nothing we can do about it.

Tuesday, July 21, 2009 02:12 PM

smoking isn't good for you, so its ok to tax that

Obama's justified it in his mind that smoking is wrong, so by raising taxes on smoking and soft drinks, etc., he's actually helping you, out of the goodness of his liberal heart, of course.

yeah

good luck with that. Liberals need to reform their thinking. Health insurance reform isn't necessarily synonymous with "government takeover of healthcare". How many Americans

are aware individuals and businesses who don't have

healthcare insurance will pay a penalty, but they're not going to penalize illegal immigrants who don't have healthcare insurance? How many Americans agree with abortion being covered by government's healthcare bill? Maybe they need to figure out why Europe and Canada are moving toward private health insurance, too..

SOS

Ineffective. He keeps telling us stories, trying to sell the concept, but actually we all agree reform is needed.

He's not telling us what we want to hear: 1) what exactly is the plan 2) how will it work, 3)and how he's going to pay for it..

S.O.S.

Obama's press conference was S.O.S.... same, repetitive answers. Everyone still mystified. Then it went further downhill when he became very Un-presidential and stated that the police were "stupid". From what I've heard all day, the vast majority can see through Gates and his elitist attitude.

And yes, it doesn't matter if you're in your own house, if you're resistive, belligerant, unorderly to the authorities, you will get arrested. It happens all the time to white punks who think they can mouth off.

Professor Gates is ignorant

Being intellectual does not automatically mean you're intelligent. Gates is downright ignorant if he was yelling at the cops, and uncooperative. Gates is an angry black man and I think we're starting to see that Obama is too...

Obama's true colors

Obama's action were Un-Presidential, and it shows his true colors ---the fact that he didn't have all the details but he

"sided" with his buddy, the professor of African History.

I think it was actually racist on Obama's part, to make that

statement on national TV, without the facts.

tired?

More excuses? Now "Obama was tired?" this is unbelievable.

Seems to be the cry-baby pattern of liberals.. I'm black, so I don't have to respect authority figures; I'm professor, so I don't have to listen to a lowly sergeant; its the republicans fault that Obama's healthcare piece-of-crap bill didn't fly; and on and on. We've got your number.

Friday, July 24, 2009 01:31 PM

maybe someone has an issue with authority?

It may seem like blacks are getting "picked on" because they don't have the same respect for authority figures ingrained in them the same way many whites have it ingrained in them while they are growing up. If you have half a brain you know better than to talk back, resist or be uncooperative with teachers, police, etc., unless you want to suffer the consequences. If you do "choose" to be belligerant its because you're ignorant, or, just maybe you're racist and you want to start trouble, it would be good material for your next book., etc.

Tuesday, July 28, 2009 07:31 PM

Obama was disappointing

The word "racist" is used too much. It was downright disturbing and upsetting to see the President of the U.S. on national TV condemning our police, especially after

admitting he didn't know all the details. This is not something Americans will forget. Inviting Gates and the

sergeant to the White House for a beer is utterly ridiculous;

its nothing but a photo op.

Original article: Waiting for the Blue Dogs

why would you want anything less

If it wasn't for the Blue Dogs and Republicans we'd have a piece of crap bill that no one bothered to read. They're doing their job and everyone will benefit. Why would you settle for garbage? Depending on how it ends up being written,

it may not even be reversible without a major undertaking.

Wednesday, July 29, 2009 08:37 AM

better to bring it up now then find out later when its too late

I'm glad someone is raising these questions, because once its

written in, it may be difficult or impossible to reverse.

Abortions, birth control pills, viagra, cosmetic surgery, elective surgery, sex-change operations, weight reduction surgeries, invitro fertilization, etc. --- all these procedures and prescriptions should be questioned. Anything above and beyond basic, mecessary healthcare should be paid by the individual. Now is the time to address this, unless we want to pay even more for lawsuits later.

liberals = 7th graders

Its pretty obvious flaky liberals must be pretty frustrated, with all those 7th grade bully words they use. Too bad 7th grade was as far as they got. I guess that's why they want the government to take care of them.

Wednesday, July 29, 2009 10:56 AM

easy to explain

Its very easy to explain Obama's falling polls: you can only

fool people for so long.

Wednesday, July 29, 2009 11:29 AM

Obama brought it on himself

Obama escalated race issue when he went on National TV and stated that the police "acted stupidly", (even though he didn't know all the details)and the policeman was white. WTF

do you expect? Its time Obama holds himself accountable instead of acting like its nothing. Most people are not fooled. When he does stuff like that, it makes people think back... well, he did sit and listen to Rev. Wright for 20 yrs.,

and, Ayers is one of his buddies....and, he did nominate Sotomayor even though she punted the case of the white firefighters instead of addressing it... again, what do you expect?

Thursday, July 30, 2009 10:52 AM

Obama's ineffective

Obama's an example of how you can have the desire and the work ethic, but if you don't have the skills, you can't get the job done. We need more than a preacher. The democrats are the same party as before, except they have Obama. But

"personality" isn't enough in these times.

Monday, August 3, 2009 07:22 PM

Obama/Acorn

What hypocritical, crybabies! Its ok for Obama to use the criminal group, Acorn to organize for him, but no one else is allowed free speech? Hypocrits. Flaky liberal hypocrits.
