auto industry

The union and GM spent too much time negotiating, playing cat and mouse, while their business went down the drain. The market we live in moves too fast to be spending enormous amounts of time negotiating. Unions need to change also, or they will be gone. Time is money, most companies can't spend time pulling people away from their jobs so their union representatives and management can go sit down for hours and hours, days on end, to "play games" while their business is on hold.

secret war

Stop the conspiracy theories and class warfare. It all comes down to money. If the company is growing and profitable they

will keep people hired full-time because they need them. When

business is down, you have to cut expenses (unless you're the auto industry), but it will catch up and you'll be out of business.

can't compare them

GM has deep-rooted problems in their operations that affect their ability to survive. These problems can't be corrected with bailouts. They need new management, restructuring, preferably through bankruptcy.

AIG and the banks problems are caused by irresponsible lending, Wall Street greed, derivatives, etc. Those involved in causing the crisis should lose their jobs and be jailed.

The toxic assets ned to be isolated.

polls

Yeah. And we all know how "accurate" and "unbiased" these polls, are too ...

Tuesday, March 31, 2009 05:31 PM

taxes

Apparently, Democrats don't worry about excess spending because they have no intention of paying the increased taxes anyway....

Tuesday, March 31, 2009 05:49 PM

this is why we need less government

This is exactly why we need "less" government. How many more examples do we need? They're politicians--- not business people! Its not their money, and they're downright careless with it. No one in their right mind would hand out that kind of money on the "honor" system, except our inept, inefficient goverment!

Another question: wonder if anyone's watching over the stimulus money?

Obama shuts down anyone who questions his plans

Obama cuts off anybody who questions him by asking them to submit their own budget, their own bailout plan, their own ideas, etc. That's a Mistake. You don't want to put people on the spot who question you! We Already had a President who people were afraid to question, and look what happened. This is not change.

Tuesday, March 31, 2009 06:34 PM

its been a long time coming

GM did too little, too late. The head of the union deserves to be fired as well.. they cut off their nose to spite their face. The union was on an ego trip, they have no long-term vision ---only the weekly paycheck and extravagant benefits that no one else in private industry has.

Original article: Laugh it up, Orszag

better things to do

From a taxpayers point of view, Orszag's time would be better

spent going through the budget, line by line, and eliminating

ineffective programs and pork --which Obama promised would be done when he was campaigning. It seems like that would have been the first step, before putting the new budget together.

no problem

How hypocritical of most people to give Sebelius a pass, just

because she's a Democrat. Thats right, just spend, spend, spend and don't worry about paying taxes. Irresponsibility seems to be a pattern that's forming with liberals.

Thursday, April 2, 2009 07:26 PM

protocol

Protocol is protocol. It would be interesting to see what the French, German and English, etc. press say about it.

Hispanics

Let me get this straight. Yes, McCain was the leader for immigration reform. Hispanics didn't vote for him, however, now they're disappointed with Obama, so they run to McCain to help them? Actually I always thought Hispanic values were very solid, and more aligned to conservatives. Nobody really

knows what Obama stands for, including Obama. Obama says one thing, but does just the opposite.

Friday, April 3, 2009 08:05 PM

astronomical Democratic budget plan

This astronomical budget will be the next financial crisis,

and everyone will wonder again, how did we let this happen?Nobody's paying attention to the numbers, and those who question it are dismissed, ignored. America never learns.

Monday, April 6, 2009 06:23 PM

responsibility

Wake up, no one is to blame except for the shooter himself.

There are many, many Americans with the same concerns regarding the direction Obama is taking this country. Many feel like they've been "had", that this is not the type of "change" they had in mind when they voted for Obama. But they're not shooting anyone. This guy was mentally unstable. We need better enforcement of our existing gun laws.

Monday, April 6, 2009 07:47 PM

Its not just Republicans

Its not just Republicans warning about our astronomical debt, its also coming from major leadrs of the world: China, Germany, France, to name a few. Wake up America, before we create another financial crisis! The more debt we're in, the

more vulnerable we are.

Thursday, April 9, 2009 09:11 PM

educate the people

Most Americans don't understand the consequences and implications socialism has on our freedom. The more the government intervenes in our lives, the less freedom we will have. Politicians prey on the ignorant.

Pelosi is already protecting the illegal and endangering Americans

Don't believe them. Pelosi is already promising to protect illegal immigrants, all the while endangering Americans. Many of the illegal immigrants were already criminals in their own country. Its very naive to think they will change. This is

a national security issue.

Thursday, April 9, 2009 09:55 PM

the more things change the more they stay the same

Obama is doing the very same thing which he criticized Bush.

Original article: Rove: Biden is a "liar"

Doesn't Biden have more important things to do

Isn't Biden supposed to be heading up the "Middle Class Task Force"? What a joke.

Original article: Obama turns econ professor

keep the government out of people's lives

Keep the government out of people's lives and we won't have these problems. Democrats pressured Fannie Mae to give loans to people who couldn't possibly afford them, (probably trying to win their votes) and now we're all paying for it.

Tuesday, April 14, 2009 06:33 PM

another example of Obama's divisiveness

Obama's a divider, not a uniter, and this report is further proof. Republicans and Democrats are duly concerned about the increasing role of government in our lives, and the associated costs (taxes). I've heard the word "revolt" more in the past couple months than in my entire lifetime. What we fear is Obama and Pelosi- -- not rightwing extremism.

Original article: Your guide to teabagging

old subject

We heard about Maddows obvious joke a week or more ago, and it wasn't that clever the first time we heard it. Actually, the tea parties are catching on in more and more communities across the country, as Americans realize they are not comfortable with bigger government and irresponsible spending.
