Please

I find myself feeling protective of her just because so much of the vitriol she's absorbing these days is clearly a response to her being a woman who's transgressed cultural norms.

Please, yes some cultural norms are nothing more than moralizing but what she did was to cause harm to other people in this case 14 kids. That is a cultural norm that almost everyone can live with.

You couldn't ask for a better combination for whipping up indignant opinions from strangers -- she wants your money and there are pictures of her looking kinda freakish!

An irresponsible person that cares more for themselves than their 14 kids causes indignation when they ask for other peoples money to fund their irresponsible acts.

But some of those opinions say a whole lot more about the people sharing them than they do about Suleman...The printable one included this heartwarming thought:"The best thing that could happen to those kids is if they get taken away from her or if they die."

Well nice cherry picking skills you have. I am assuming you are looking for a printable death threat but this quote is not a death threat. In order for there to be a death threat there needs to be a threat and well that quote is lacking a threat. And another thing the person is not wrong either. The mother is incompable of taking care of herself let alone her 6 previous kids that live in filth according to Nadya mother. She already has 3 disable kids and this new batch is sure to double that number at the least.

check out Tina Brown's response to the photos of hugely preggo Suleman. because no pregnant woman ever thought to get a picture of her expanding belly before that?

No Tina is right. What we do know about Nadya is that she is obsessed with celebrity culture with her year long letter writing campign to Anglia and her plastic surgery to look more like her. And that VF cover was the pop culture moment of hot prego celebs and it might be the single most famous magazine cover of the last 30 years. So it is not hard to make the leap that she drew her influence from that cover.

Brown goes off on Suleman's "delinquency," her " freeloading on disability," her " reckless conduct" (which, according to that sentence, actually caused disabilities in some of Suleman's children; I suppose that's true, insofar as the children would not have disabilities if they did not exist)

Nadya is a delinquent. She has bankrupted her parents, she had to move back in with them. There are reports that she stole money from her mother to pay for the previous IV treatment and that she stole money from her kids that her mother put away to pay for the 8. She has spent money on plastic surgery to look more like a celebrity when her kids live in filth.

Nadya is a freeloader. See above.

Nadya is reckless. Having fertility treatments when you can not afford 1 kid is reckless. Having it after having a child with autism is reckless. And what is extremely reckless is not having selective abortions when you are carrying 8 kids when you already have 3 kids with disability.

And she risked disability by having the 8. The risk for mental illness is off the chart for kids born that premature and when you have 8 it is known all around that the kids will be months premature. The kids do not have fully developed lungs and the kids are at extremely high risk of being blind. To name but the key ways she put the kids at risk. Never mind that she already has 3 kids with disability. Which is a key indicator of future risk.

oh yes, her "duvet lips." Because the critique just wouldn't be complete without a shot at Suleman's appearance.

That is because her lips are cosmetically altered. In the real world people have a problem with people that have elective cosmetic surgery when they will have to pay the bill especially when she should have spent the time and money on her kids instead of living in filth.

Or, you know, at her innocent children. Brown punctures Suleman's (presumed) dreams of being the next Angelina Jolie with this classist, ableist gem:

Nadya is the one with the Angelina fetish and she is the one that called a publicist and demanded 1.5 million plus for her to lie in an interview. Brown is calling out this crazy bitchs idea of being anything more than a flash in the pan. As outraged as everyone is right now no one will care about her this time next year.

I do think the doctor who implanted all those embryos behaved beyond unethically

No, the responsibility is on Nadya not the doctor. How in the hell is the doctor to know that she can't support what she already has. When he is getting paid he has to assume that she has the time and money.

it becomes increasingly obvious that this is no longer really about one woman who has a lot of kids; this is about our culture's expectations of poor families, women of color, single moms and women who exercise their reproductive freedom in unpopular ways.

Nice try but no. This has nothing at all to do with women of color as hell this bitch passes as white. This has nothing at all to do with single mothers though she got you to buy her bullshit but than she has been playing the two large out spoken religious groups in this country, feminist and the religious right.

Why there is so much anger over her is we are in a time of backlash against greed. She is facing anger for the same reason that Wall St CEO as facing anger. She made stupid selfish short term decisions that now the public will have to pay for.
