How fucking dishonest can you be. Using google and live with the search term 43 percent women sexually abused I find that number is the number of women that claimed to be sexually abused entering rehab, 43 percent of women that enter jail and 43 percent of women that have HIV, 43 percent of homeless women claim to be sexual abused before 12. I can not find a single source for the claim that it is anywhere close to 43 percent of all girls. Of course a quick reading of these studies show that this is self reporting of drug users, prisoners, and the homeless plus a group that is likely to have a high number of drug users and people that are likely to have high risk sex that society does condone. This group is not exactly the most honest in case of the drug users and criminals or mentally reliable in the case of the homeless. These groups are of course an extremely small subset of women meaning around 3 or 4 percent.
I also get a bad feeling with each hitting the number 43 exactly. Without knowing exactly how many surveys have been done on this question with these population it just seems fishy like the 2 percent number that feminist push on false rape allegations which of course is a bullshit stat.
I would wager a guess that these surveys have built in bias in the way they count what is and what is not sexual abuse. In other surveys they counted crap like an aunt that kisses a 3 year old on the check against the wishes of the 3 year as sexual abuse and other crap that reasonable people would never call sexual abuse let alone abuse.
First full disclosure, I am a alum of Florida State University and I have despised U Florida since I remember watching football as kid.
Sorry I misinterpreted your argument, I thought you where getting to the point that teams with equal records and apparently stronger resumes get screwed. Seeing that is not what you where getting at I still feel glad I wrote that because it is a common viewpoint of a lot of casual fans and even hardcore fans.
"sometimes one loss is good enough depending on when it happens, and sometimes it isn't.
This still does not take away from my argument that the regular season matters. You did not say how many teams you would like to see in a playoff but 16 seems to be the number thrown around in here. Using the 16 team playoff with 6 autos for Conference champs and 10 at large the fourth place team in the big 12 south would get in. If they cap the teams from one conference allowed it is reasonable that a 4 loss team would make it.
Now lets take the worst case scenario for my argument last year when teams with 2 losses made the BCS championship game. LSU had to play out the year with strong performances in the SEC championship game to have a chance where if there was a playoff they could have sat everyone knowing they had a slot in the playoff, hell they could have taken the last 4 games off knowing that they had a birth in the playoffs. This year USC could have played the last 6 games knowing they only had to win half to be in yet with a small chance to play in the title game they had to make every game count.
And the regular season would "matter" for more teams if there were a playoff.
To the idea that the current system makes teams out of the BCS hunt lazy they are playing for bowl games and to improve the weather err bowl game they play and the payout they receive. There is little incentive to sandbag it. The teams that are on the bubble for a playoff spot will play harder sure but they already are. It is better to play in Tampa or Orlando than it is to play in Detroit or Boise.
Also, Florida has played FSU every year for as long as I can remember, which used to be a huge clash and still typically involves two good, if not great, teams.
Florida only started to play FSU because at the time FSU was a cupcake. It was not until Bowden got to Tallahassee that the game became competitive. Florida has ducked Miami for years and the only reason they played them recently is because there where a few state legislators that basically blackmailed Florida by threatening money for the school. Florida avoids playing even semi decent schools constantly. Compare this with FSU, ND, OSU, USC and the like that try all the time to schedule tough ooc games. FSU for example set up games against ND when they where still a top 5 program, games against Penn St, Colorado when they where still good. OSU schedules games against USC and Texas. Miami has wanted a permanent series with Florida for ever now, they will play just about anyone anywhere.
The strength sorry speed of the SEC is mostly a myth started and echoed by the SEC and there massive speed. There OOC record is not at all special neither is there bowl record especially for a conference that is supposed to be as good as the NFC West. There speed is not at all special either with about as many players drafted in the speed positions as should be expected for a conference its size. Yes I do hate the SEC mostly because of the hype they spout.
